Cervelo S3 Sizing - 510 - 31 inseam
Hi guys,
I am looking to get a Cervelo S3 and Im wondering if a 51cm would do the trick. I have a 31 cyclist inseam and Im 510. Anyone know where I would typically land between the 54cm and 51cm? Im looking for some experienced opinions. There is a 51cm that is basically brand new with full sram red for $1500 at my LBS.
What do you guys think?

I think that it's too small. Not necessarily the seat tube length per say, Just the 53cm eff. top tube length and the small 11cm headtube.

What bikes do you currently ride and do you like them? Look up their geometry on the mfrs' website and compare to the geometry of the S3.
Bike sizing by seat tube length is going to be different for bikes of differing geometries.
My son is happy on a 56cm Trek Emonda. He is your size in height and leg, but I don't know what the differences are in his frame over an S3.
I am only 1 inch taller, but have over a 34.5" inseam. My two current road bikes are 59cm and 60cm bike. Before them I road a 26"(66cm) bike for over 35 years. So while there may be an "ideal" size, I think there is larger range of sizes that will work for many.

I need to decide whether to keep it, sell it, or do a frame swap. I can ride it comfortably with the seat post out to the limit line and a 110mm stem but now I am paranoid that I am on the wrong size bike.

The wrong size bike IMO, is one that causes you pain and the fit can't be corrected by changing other things. Or for your riding needs it won't let you achieve what you want. IE. it is unlikely you will win the TDF on a 50 pound bike.
If it's doing what you need, you don't have any pains, and you like the color and asthetics, then what else matters?

I ride a 52cm Wabi classic and I like it. So I bought the 51cm Cervelo already :/

High head tubes have made it too easy for tall people to select too-small bikes.

A 54 is probably the correct size. I'm just under 6'0, have ridden a size 56 Cervelo for years, and could have easily sized up to a 58, or down to a 54, if needed. I'd probably opt for the larger frame if I'm on the edge. Larger frames just feel more reassured and relaxing for me.

I am sure you know this but the OP should know it as well. $1500 for a bike isn't a bargain if it's not the right size. Unless it's worth a whole lot more for a flip.......

Yeah, OP, 54 is the correct size for you with your proportions. I'm just under 5'10, but with a 34 inseam, and I ride a 52. (With a 100mm stem). You might need to put a slightly longer stem on your 54, depending on the length of your arms, but 54 is the right ballpark for you.
