OK thanks. I got a Blitzu or some such from Amazon, and it was trash. It looks like a copy of the Cygolite Hotrod, but it's very cheaply made, and the charger cable doesn't hold steady enough to make the charge happen. Generally, I stay away from this stuff, having spent more on unsatisfactory stuff than on good stuff. But I'd like cheap stuff as spares or giveaways.

The one time I bought a light from china on the recommendation of someone on this forum it was DOA. That's how they do it. I've gone back to buying all my lights from Germany.

And this was my experience:
I bought a light from China through Ebay about a year ago. It never arrived so I emailed the seller. Same day I had a refund on my PayPal account. About another 3 weeks go by and I get the light, so I email the seller again asking if they want it back. Their response: Keep it and thank you.
The last thing these sellers on Ebay want it bad feedback and they bend over backwards to avoid it even if it means they take a hit.
Also, I've had a similar experience with Amazon.
@kingston did you contact the seller? And if you did, how did they handle it?

I contacted the seller and they said they would send a replacement light but it would take another month. It never arrived so I contacted them again and they said there was a mix up so they would send another one that would also take another month. Still never arrived and I contacted them again and got no response, by then enough time had passed that I couldn't dispute the purchase.

USB to micro charging cables can at times be problematic. Just last week my 4 year old wall USB to micro charger began to have problems keeping a connection when charging my phone. Still works but likely the plug is just wearing out. If I move the phone while charging the screen will come on indicating that there was a momentary loss of power. I guess that means I need a new wall charger and hopefully that I don't need a new phone. Anyway, ( @noglider ) try a new cable and if that doesn't work than contact the seller and most times they just give you a new one. I've bought stuff on Amazon that didn't work and the seller almost always come through if something isn't right.
( Edit; reading the other post above; Ordering from ebay can be probematic. Much of the stuff they sell is coming directly from China.. I like knowing I'm ordering something that is stocked in the USA. That is why I like Amazon so much. If they don't have it in stock they tell you and their customer service is pretty good. Ebay will tell you where it is being shipped from but you have to find the place where they mention it or ask the seller. Ordering anything directly from China through off shore websites is usually a roll of the dice and going to take more than four weeks. That and the customer service is often times crappy. I've been screwed by Chinese websites a couple times and even though I used Paypal it really didn't help. That said, I'll still buy from them IF they are the only place I can get a certain thing. )

18650 DIY rear blinking redlight
I simply buy from china a cheap model of 3 red led blinking light normally powered by 2 x 1.5 AAA . I welded directly to the two + & - terminals, the 2 wires coming from an external batteries holder of one 18650 . After a season of 10000 km keeping the light ''on'' even in my daytime ride , nothing blow even if two aaa = 3 volts and one 18650 = 3.7 volts (even up to 4.2 after a recharge) . It's a very long lasting set-up , but you have to recharge from time to time in a widely spaced way , so as not to fall below a threshold that the lithium-ion batteries does not like, because after , they are irrecoverable .

Cheap headlight, red lens, hole in middle of red lens covered by clear lens. 18650 batteries in seatpost.
2nd connector is for a Solar Storm x2 head light.

Don't know. Cree XM-L T6 LED puts out close to 600 lumens.
but @ $2.74, probably a lot cheaper.
