Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Dura ace center lock rotor 160mm

Where are they all???? I was looking for one for my sons bike but can't find them anywhere. There are 140s in abundance Even the ultegra in the same size are out of stock everywhere

is there still a supply chain shortage??

if anyone knows of a store that may have one please let me know

thanks

You just have to keep looking. Yes...there is a supply chain issue that has been going on for quite a while now and will probably extend through the rest of this year.

I picked up some Ultegra 160mm rotors about a month ago that popped up on one site and I've got other rotors back ordered as well. I found some L03A pads a few months ago on Amazon that were under 30 bucks and got a few sets of those. Within hours they were back up over $80.

Just keep searching. Work with your LBS and backorder when necessary. My shop advised me to stock up whenever I can find rotors, pads, chains, etc. Look at Google Shopping and see if there are stores that have stock that show up.

You can also use the XT and XTR centerlock rotors as well which might be easier to find than the road rotors.

thanks. Had the same problem last year and thought it might be over by now but clearly it's not

I might even try the Sram centerline xr as long as it fits in with everything else

That’s what pros are using these days, and what is coming on DA bikes as OEM.

Act fast: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-XTR...g/223226038240

I wanted a couple of Ultegra 160mm centerlock rotors -- the IceTech ones. I found them at one sketchy-looking online site for $90 each...And my LBS had them in-stock at MSRP, which is $59.

Check with your LBS.

Well certain parts are for sure.

But thanks, I was looking for some a few months ago and the prices were insane, so I decided I would wait a month or two. Just ordered 2.

Why bother with the Dura-Ace rotor? Even Shimano is going with the XTR rotor over the Dura-Ace in the new 12 spd 9200 groupset. Excel Sports currently have them in stock.

Also if your son isn't heavy, just have him use 140mm.

I bought my DA 160mm rotors with my wheels through Hunt Wheels. They do restrict them to only be sold with wheel sales.
I chose the DA rotors so that I could leave my Ultegra on my factory wheels for gravel uses and the DA match my black bike better.

I have been looking too- Ultegra or Dura Ace. No luck till I called a local shop ~20 miles away. They actually had a set of DAs in stock. They are around $85 so I went and picked them up. These rotors are hard to find.

I recall someone telling me they discontinued the Ultegra and DA rotors all together.

yea I picked up some of the mountain bike versions (m8000) that happened to be in stock since I did not want to pay stupid price for the Road R8000 versions.

I have a set of Dura Ace 160s- bought new, mounted, but never used or touched by calipers, + lock rings, but no packaging. PM me if you want them. I'm selling the wheels they were on so I don't need them.

Stuck in Asia somewhere in the supply chain... You may need to consider the ultegra ones or others.

The MT900s are cheaper and better great looking IMO. I would buy a set for sure if my current DA rotors were shot! Plus, if I recall, the MT900s are lighter than the DA...

They are lighter, but very minimally so. I do think they look better. I recently put a set of RT-MT800s on a predominantly white road bike & I think they look great.

I'm looking to find a set of the black RT-MT900s (1st pic) for a wheel swap on a gravel bike. Availabiltiy is still spotty especially the 160s. I can find the MT800s in both 140 & 160, but really want the black MT900s. I mistakenly bought a set last year that came w' the lock ring shown in the 2nd pic. I assume they won't fit my needs, but am not entirely sure.

They are interchangeable. It's the tool that's different. The first one used on the majority of road bikes needs the Shimano cassette removal tool while the 2nd one needs a spanner (a bottom bracket tool should do the job).

Also be aware that the BB type are a liiiittle too big for some frames/forks. A few years back, I popped my wheels on to a new bike, threaded and tightened the TA... and was dismayed that the ****er wouldn't spin - the edge of the lock ring was fouling against the inside of the fork. I had to rummage around my parts bin for some of the cassette-type.

They've seen mixed reviews, but I'm still hoping that these Hope rotors drop below their ridiculous price -
