Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yike! I think I’m going to get mine on Tuesday. Fortunately, it’s a light week.

My usual LBS extracted the broken bolt from my seat post collar and gave me a new bolt, both for free.

Didn’t do the race. By the time I got home, I was physically exhausted. Went to check it out, looked like a lot of fun, but I don’t even know if I would have been able to finish.

Oh c'mon, what's 45 minutes? I did a CX race at a very casual pace once when I was just getting over a cold. I just looked at the scenery and tried not to get my heart rate up. Got passed by a fatbike. Had an ice cold beer while sitting on a haybale afterwards. Better than just watching

I didn’t know what to expect, and thought it was going to be a little bit more extreme. It was actually much like you described and I prolly would have been fine, but again I didn’t know what to expect, and decided It was best not to get in the way.

Is a single Yike the same as multiple Yikes, or is there a nuanced difference?

5:00 already. True, the days, weeks, and years fly by, but it's likely the hours that are the root of the problem.

Beautiful day for riding here in CA! It was cool and overcast for the first hour, but once that burned off there wasn't a cloud in the sky, which is a vivid blue like you don't see Back East. Temps were in the high 60s/low 70s, so pretty much perfect. I took the Ritchey, since I enjoyed it so much last Saturday on the C&V ride and besides, the Litespeed is all covered in dried sweat! At least it won't rust!

I stopped for a nibble and a drink half way through.

Stafford looks awful and the Rams look awful. Don't recall a Super Bowl winning team looking this bad.

Also, Stafford has some new kinda-funny commercials, but I can't think of anyone who signed a bunch of commercial deals and then didn't decline. Rodgers and Mahomes might be the best cases for it, but Baker, Stafford, McVey, and some others I'm forgetting now showed it. Plus the college kids. And even Biles. AG and I were actually discussing it over dinner. Because of Stafford and Baker, mainly.

Part of Stafford's problem is the O-line. I think he got sacked over a dozen times in two games. Plus multiple pressures and hits.

As we say with Burrow, sacks are a QB stat.
