Yo Portland Peeps, cheap fender night!!
Hey there, I volunteer at the Bike Farm, a co-op on NE 1st street by Broadway Toyota.
We are have a $10 fender sale. Plus we have all the park tools and swear words to help you get your fender on.
Lots of crazy fenders, from PBW to Velo Orange to that German company. Have you priced fenders lately? Silly.
wed and Thurs, 5:30 to 8:30
Robert

Jan Vander Tuin at the Eugene Bike Coop had built a custom metal fender shaper.
Unfortunately the coop has apparently permanently shut down during the pandemic. Although Peddler's Express has remained active.
I don't know if any of the equipment remains, but it would be great if an Oregon coop would take over something like making custom fenders.

An in house fender bender? I love house made things.
Confused. I thought 360 cycles was Eugen's co-op. Was there a bigger one? Co-ops can be hard to staff, being that most are volunteers et al.
Anyway, fenders are pricy. I had no idea. $10 and fitted seems like a good deal.

I think I heard of it, and now wonder if I encountered it once.
I need to go check out the current shop and see what they have.
Anyway, Eugene had another coop with two names.
Center for Appropriate Transport (CAT) or Human Powered Machines. It was about a block away from where that 360 is listed.
CAT at one time had a fabrication shop and built a custom Tri-Hauler cargo bike. They also had a frame building apprenticeship program, oriented towards building their cargo bikes.
Ahhh, I found a photo of the fender machine. Jan would be the tall skinny guy with the white beard.
The coop also had a couple of other side businesses, including "Peddler's Express" which was a local cargo and delivery business which seems to still exist.
And also a Bicycle Valet Parking which they would park and monitor people's bikes for local concerts and some other venues. Leave your bags on the bike.
