I have been rebuilding my Sears fleet and expanding it with purchases so am in need. Yes, Sears.

a set of black grips that were common on 70’s models. I have brown ones so ONLY need a black set. Don’t want to substitute.

What do you want?

Looks like this...

And this. Dirty, moldy okay. No sun baked bubble ones.

2 swap opportunities
Have: Campy Record one-bolt fluted seatpost 27.2
Need: Same in 27.0

Have: Cinelli 1A 26.4 stem 100mm
Need: Same in 120mm

Neither are show quality, but in reasonable shape for age. The stem, though with a little rust on the quill bolt, is the better of the two. The post has some marks below, and even a lug outline above the minimum insertion line.

Swap one or both. CONUS only please.

Here are updated pics of the Dia Compe cantilever washer I’m seeking. Thanks again for checking!

noobinsf , unfortunately, the washers I have do not match up with yours. The inner diameter is too small and the depth is too large. When I saw your pictures I knew they were not going to match, but I measured them and it seems to me, they are just too far off from what you are looking for. Sorry I could not be of help.

Thanks again for checking. Luckily, I saw a pic of a caliper that got me thinking, and then I checked an old single pivot caliper that came with an old frame. Score one more for buying random spares that you might need “one day.” It’s a perfect match.

noobinsf , that's awesome. I was going to stop by my LBS tomorrow to see if they had any in all the stuff they have stashed. I have a good relationship with them and have found such things there in the past that they let me have gratis. I am glad it worked out for you.

I have a 1985 Gitane Champion completely built up (less tires and bar tape)

Oh, and the rear derailleur won't work! Seems PO had a loose bolt on the RD that cause the tension sprint to twist up. I can't just switch to a Suntour or Shimano RD as the drop out hanger takes a smaller bolt and I'll strip the threads in the hanger. RD is a Sachs-Huret "Eco" model also shown sometimes as a Huret Eco. I am going to try to find a way to bend another tension spring to fit, but not holding my breath.

I added a photo of my actual RD and one from the 'net. Mine doesn't have the hook attachment but it's the same RD. The photo is of one for sale in Holland but there it's $7 and $50 for shipping!

** I just need the spring though if you'd prefer to trade the whole RD, I'm in

Can trade a set of Sachs Huret LUX AS double Shifters. These are NOS

a) it may be possible to re-form the spring; it was straight to start with before it got wound into the shape it is, would probably handle more bendin;' and

b) looks to me as if the same spring was used in the Alvit and possibly some other Hurets. I think I have both an Alvit and a Challenger (similar to yours) and will check.

If anyone fails you on the AR front, gimme a shout. I'm pretty sure I've got what you need also.

Longshot here, but I'm looking to convert, apply or build a decent 8/9/10 speed capable 26" wheelset 100/135. Got two ways to accomplish:
  1. Find someone with a spare 36H Shimano FH-RM40-8 hub
  2. An 8-speed freehub that fits RM40-8 rear hub, it looks like I can retrofit, I've got the extra 5mm available
I'm not opposed to buying a good XT/XTR or similar 26" wheelset capable of 8/9/10 and potentially 11 (if running T3000 or T610, TX500 think it's possible)! If you've got something, please ping me.

End goal is going 1x10 or 1x11 on this bike, to which point, if you have a suitable 10s/11s capable crank to go with the wheel stuff ....

Bumping me search for a spring for my Huret Eco RD.

Top photo shows my RD and bottom shows actual spring Ineed.

** It will take pretty much any spring from any Sach Huret RD as they were all very similar

I have quite a number of these RD. I don't often check this thread. I may need to dig to find a mech that's "parts worthy" but definitely have something.

In search of a Rivendell Silver thumb shifter mount. What Riv calls 'shifter mount X' - to mount a shifter on the outside of the left side of the handlebar or inside of the right side of the handlebar. Anyone got one? Thanks!
