Trek - $75 - LA, CA
https://offerup.com/item/detail/3943...4e4a26?cid=7.4
"Early 90s lugged steel Trek frame. 58 Cm. Specialized cranks and stem. Mavic cxp 22 wheels. Nitto road bars. Shimano tiagra derailleurs and shifters. This bike is old and could use a tune up but it rides fine, gears change and brakes work. Comes with a pretty nice rear light."

Gios fork I think. Cannot see the lug work though to see if it might be a Colnago frame or Gios.

Wish this were closer to me. The white 7900 is a gem because it's from 92 which means it has a 27.2 seatpost. You could also swap in an 1 1/8" threadless fork if you wanted.

>> MGT.for $160 in MI, with some pretty rare centerpulls.
It was 80 miles away, so an excuse had to be fabricated to make this a viable trip.. as the seller turned out to be close to the nearest Ikea store, this was easily resolved.
There are a lot of positive posts about the Motobécane Grand Touring, especially the later versions built from Vitus, so I figured I'd better take a look. The price turned out to be elastic, and I walked off with it for $120... which is at the upper end of what can be called a good deal, I think... it'll need a lot of attention. Stem and seat post are free, though, the rack is a jim blackburn, and the drivetrain is Suntour VX, with a 3x5 14-32t setup. I see lots of potential, and I see lots of tire clearance. In back, 27 x 1 1/4 + fenders will not be a problem... and more with 700c of course. The rims are Weinmann concave -- known in German as the "rain gutter" rim -- and the wheels spin true and free. It'd be a shame not to use them.
I also feel a loose bottom bracket and will have to tear into it later... my experience with French bikes is limited, and I hope I don't run into parts issues. Weight as shown is 26.2 lbs or 11.9 kg.
Here's a drive-side picture of he bike, complete with a cheesy attempt to declutter the background... plus a close-up of the front brake, since it had been mentioned... I believe the swoopy parts sticking down are guides for those lightning quick mid-race wheel changes, an important consideration for any touring bike, but they are interesting bling in any event. I don't think I've seen these before, but the GC emblem --- "Gran Compe", I presume -- is obvious.
cheers -mathias

That is a Miyata 'Seven 14' -- that's how I've seen it spelled. This bike is about 30 miles North of here; I saw it on the local FB.
This is not an "aluminum bike" in the normal sense.
I don't have the source to quote, it's an aluminum main triangle with steel fork and stays. How they bonded at the bottom bracket can be their secret.
cheers -m
