FRAME ID "Racing" Japanese 1980's without Decals

My brain keeps saying this one is easy, but I must be looking beyond the answer. I picked it up for the mixture of 80's 600 and Cyclone parts.

  • Champion #2 tubing with Champion Cr-Mo Fork
  • Cursive "Racing" on Chain stays

Serial number matches Pacific (Taiwan) format. See first post of T-Mar's Asian Serial Number Guide in the sticky section.

Fork crown style, lug shape, and serial number location and format are consistent with high end Maruishi bikes of that era, and I think I remember that they did contract builds. Maybe it's one of theirs. That's a very nice frame.

The head lug stamping is very distinctive. Have you tried soliciting the "Vintage Japanese Road Bikes" group on Facebook for information?

The stylized "E S" stamp on headlug is the brand of the (Asian) lugmaker. I always forget which brand this is/was but T-Mar always supplied the correct brandname when I (usually) called it wrong, so should be easy to track down.

I know the "E S" has passed by me on a previous Asian frame, but I just didn't have enough previous notes to jog my memory. It seems to be a quality frameset, just was hoping for a positive ID.
