Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Because of my place to make the S1 into a dedicated trainer bike, I actually used the DCR Analyzer tool to check how accurate my never-serviced OG Hammer is compared to my Quarq. Amazingly, it is bang-on. It would certainly be easy to imagine another Quarq being more divergent. It's the least-popular high-end smart trainer, but wow is it quality.

I save bacon grease too. Nothing is better for frying up leftover potatoes.

Hey all. Someone was asking me to watch how long between charges I get on the axs bike. But I forget who. The answer is 6 weeksish. I rode 64 miles today, the last 13 in 1st gear on the big ring. Because the battery went dead. I tried to swap it with the front derailleur but that didn't work. Charged the batteries all is good.
. LAJ. Congrats on the new pup.

I just finished assembly on this a couple days ago. It is fantastic. The nut is cut a little wonky so the string spacing is offset, but it plays so nice I'm scared to make a new one.

I think Dad is lonely and manufactures computer issues to ask me about. He sends me an email with a question, then when I email back he immediately calls without fully reading. "Well now I know you're up."

It is disturbing the amount of grief I am receiving from automobile drivers since this whole pandemic thing started.
It's never been this bad. I had a guy throw a McDonalds hamburger at me last week. He almost choked on what was in his mouth, he couldn't spit it out fast enough to yell at me.
I rode on a road I haven't been riding on lately due to its poor condition. It is mostly cold patch for long stretches.
So on my return leg I took it. I don't know what made me look down at my camera but as I was rolling over some of the roughest "pavement" I've ever ridden on. I looked at it just in time to see the last fragment of the mount separate. Releasing my camera to fly off on its own. For the second time I caught that camera as it left its moorings. Those clear plastic mount do not last long on mi. roads.
I believe Monday I will strike out on a century. I haven't done a solo century in a couple of years. Its high time I do.

I'm going to use it like I would a cheap hooker. Bastards strung me along for years like a crack dealer now they want in my pocket. I'll keep on using the free app. I'll get used to not having segments.

I don't even want them to have my data though, nor my rather high padding to their activities per week per user stats.
