Locking Up At Angel Stadium?

We're going to ride down to the ball game but we've never locked bikes there before. Anyone have suggestions about where might be a safe spot either in / around the stadium or within reasonable walking distance?

IF you find some place be sure to post it. I'd like to do the same but have no idea where it might be. Are you riding a road bike or a cruiser ?

I'll probably ride fixed gear --- I can't believe I'm saying this but now I'm actually *training*. A couple of others will have road bikes.

Extort: do you know that there are lockers or are you wondering (I'm puzzled by your punctuation)?

No I dont know where any lockers might be. I was always wondering what I would do with my bike shoes and for that matter my helmet unless there was a real place designed to lock up bikes and the equipment. I am just curious on what you end up doing.

Fill out their form, https://losangeles.angels.mlb.com/hel...x.jsp?c_id=ana , and ask them if there are bike racks/lockers at the stadium or nearby...and/or if they can install a few racks. Shouldn't be a big deal to have a few bike racks available, nor does it require a lot of space. Many business will install bike racks if customers request it. Know Denver and SF has bicycle parking, some monitored for the entire game.

Let us know what you find out....

metro anaheim has bike racks, but not sure about lockers. if there are lockers, they are usually rent/leased out on a first come basis. call the number at this link and check. i use a locker in ontario and payed a 25 dollar deposit in 2006, so 3 years so far and i am the only one out of a total of 16 lockers.

Good call. Just contacted them and I'll be sure to report back what they say or what I find.

I use the Anaheim Train Station often and don't remember seeing any lockers and I don't think any racks either. <<< Strike that, on second thought; there are bike racks.
At Angels games, I often see bikes just locked to the stadium fence around the front between 1st and 3rd in the less crowded areas.
Maybe roll up and ask the cops or security working that day if along the fence is OK?

brian - whisper jerome. he says he locks up in one spot whenever he goes and there's always the same security guard there that is super cool and "keeps an eye on the bikes."

I went to the game tonite. (Angels lost, but I was born in Oaktown so all is good)
The station has some bike racks and I also found about 8 lockers tonite - those are usually at least a month lease type deal.
I didn't catch bikes locked on the stadium fence - might be 'cuz I already had my drink on. As mentioned previous, I have seen that before.
Hopefully, I can post pics from the crackberry - otherwise check later.

Oops, no pics yet.

Ok, here's some shots of the Anaheim Train Station bike racks and lockers.

Not the best quality off a cell phone at night, but there you go.

Still about a month or so left in the season - plus playoffs.

With the amount of security at the stadium during a game, locking up to the perimeter fence in view of a security camera and/or a Gatekeeper is quite safe. I'd say much safer than the train station's bike rack. I've been to a dozen games this season so far and always lock up to the green perimeter fence, including last night's game.

^^ What Crit said. That's the way to go. I think we locked at Gate 5 and the Gatekeeper is happy to keep an eye on things.

I even have a bike locker there, but would only use that if going to an event at the Honda Center. Half of the fun of riding to the game is front-row parking for free.

CritEastwood,
If you don't mind, could you detail the arrangements for a locker there?

I went to a game a couple months ago and when walking out I saw there was at least 50 fixed gear bikes locked to the perimeter fence (wrought iron and green i think). It was right next to a gate near the right field foul pole. I don't know if this was just one group that night, or if this is the place everyone locks up all the time.
