I tried to PM you but it says I need 10 posts to send a message. I unfortunately only have about 6 or 7 posts as I just don't post much. I did want to PM you though regarding the Goossens.
Thank you - Bill

NOTE: I have received Private Messages from other members but "Bike Forums" will not allow me to open up these messages and respond because I only have 7 ( maybe 8 ) posts. This is ridiculous to be honest as they want me to have 10 posts. I've been a member for a couple years but I stay quite mostly and observe. So when there is something pretty important that comes up then I'm not allowed to read or respond to a Private Message ........ amazing! This is something that should change.

Maybe we need a thread just for newbies to post nonsense to reach that 10-post threshold...
No, wait! We need a whole subforum for this, and NO BRIFTERS (over 8-speed) can be mentioned!

FYI, we have had accounts that were opened years ago that were only recently activated and used for spamming. You don't see this as the mod staff work hard to keep the forum free of spam. It's a huge problem.
These tools aren't going away as they work very well.

This particular "Bike Forums" is definitely not one I would have any interest in running. It allows anything to be here. Bikes with bells, bikes with baskets, mountain bikes, strollers etc etc. I'm more specialized in my arena of bikes so for my forum wouldn't be very hard to manage at all. It's very specific and only a few knowledgeable people would be in it that we would learn from regarding the history of racing at the Turn of the Century. I have a forum I'm working on now. I would say about 99.999999% of the people here would have no interest in learning history from when bicycle racing actually began.
Anyway, if I do go through with it you are welcome to join. Anything you will want to post will be reviewed my the admin ( me ) first before being posted on the site.
All the best ..

But...I apologized beforehand. I thought I would be spared a public flaying.
Seriously, so sorry. To be fair (to me), everyone complains about the 10 post rule and it's annoying.
Agreed, I shouldn't have jumped on you. But this is one thing about which, after thousands of posts, I'm not insecure. Thanks.
