Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Indeed. A Knog Blinder can put out 44 lumens. Quite a difference.

Bianchi10, Those are nice socks!

Sweet bike that Cannondale!

I'm posting mine for the umpteenth time just to show off a few new items for the winter. New black saddle (back to my weight weenieism, 148g and comfortable as all get out), also went to black handlebar tape this fall so the carpet needed to match the drapes. New winter and fondo wheels, Industry 9 I25's running tubeless with Bontrager R3's 25mm (incredibly comfortable), a nod to my aging ways and lots of nearby climbing, put an 11-32 Ultegra cassette on along with a 6870 Rear Derailleur which easily shifts as nice as my 9070 but makes me feel like my bike is ashamed of me

Changed my cassette from a 12-25 to a 11-32. Makes it easier for an old guy to climb.

Did you not change your rear derailer also to a longer cage version?

No, my LBS guy said I didn't need to. Have put a couple of hundred on it since it was done, and everything seems to be working well. I'm kind of an older feller and have only been riding a year, so I have to depend on other's expertise at times. I do love to ride though. Seem to be able to cruise the flats and rollers pretty well, but any serious climb is a chore.

3T ARX 110 Stem +-6 to replace the Pro 7S 100 +-10. A stem that gives me more comfortable position.

I order a pair of Bontrager's new XXX Road shoes in red. Unfortunately, the estimated ship date for the red version of the XXX Road is in mid-to-late January. Just in time for the heart of a Midwest winter...

I tried to buy some wheels today... gave my CC numbers and thought all was set.. got a call back and inventory was incorrect, they did not have a mig45 hub in stock.. ordered delayed. Does that count ?

Cygolite combo for $50 shipped is the best deal for lights I think. So bright, and lasts so long. I only charge once every two weeks. And it's bright enough I get complaints from drivers, F' them.

Also they're small!

It's a good price, but not enough light(IMO). I use a 650 & a 150 forward, with the 60 flasher on the rear. I'll probably upgrade this winter

I run an exposure Blaze in the back, I think it's 80 lumens and I've never heard a complaint.
