Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

how do you get off Nashbar's email list?...

I've emailed them five times to ask to be removed but I'm still receiving emails. They actually responded twice that they would remove me but........I"M STILL RECEIVING EMAILS!!!!

Yanno, this wouldn't be such a big deal if they only sent a few emails......but it's like at least one per day. Don't know about you guys, but I'm done with Nashbar. I'll never buy anything from them again.

You probably have a spam blocker provided by your internet service provider. Add Nashbar to the list. I know with Bellsouth/AT&T you can do this.

Add them to your blocked senders list or junk mail list and you won't have to worry about it again.

The two responses above sound exactly like what you were told last week.

You actually looking for advice or just looking to *itch?

I like the e-mails, it gives me false hope that I have friends.

The unsubscribe link simply doesn't work, I get two emails at two different addresses from Nashbar and I have unsubscribed from one every month for the last six months. They simply ignore all unsubscribe requests.

If this is true, and verifiable, then notify the FTC that they are: in violation of federal laws regarding the sending of unsolicited emails. If convicted, these laws carry hefty penalties.

A carefully addressed letter containing the same information, delivered by certified mail to the CEO, might have a remarkable motivating effect towards getting the unsubscribe button fixed.

There's a good use of time. I wonder if anybody has ever gone to jail for sending spam. I seriously doubt it. The most common crime in the U.S. is identity theft and yet nobody has gone to jail for that either. The authorities simply don't care. I get 500-600 spam emails per day. I wonder why anybody would be bothered by one.

I have this same problem with Performance. I dont mind the occasional email, but every other day AND mailbox flyers a couple times a week too is a bit much. Are they making so much money they can afford all that postage and printing?

If you are a legit company (as is Nashbar) and the OP's complaints are true (I question) - Nashbar would be sternly punished. The reason so many SPAMMER's do not get arrested is they cannot be found or caught . .. they are hiding behind the openness of internet email. However, in the case of a company like Nashbar, catching them would be a non-issue.

This is like the no-call list. many said it would have no effect, and many companies have paid dearly for that thought.
