I think this may be my first Thanksgiving ever away from my relatives.
I'm a little homesick for sure, but then again for the last 4 years the day has been incredibly busy. Sometimes three separate houses to visit.
Spouse has to work for a few hours tomorrow, so the plan is a bike ride and a relaxing day off of work.
Sounds pretty nice to me

Pecan pie is a lovely thing and, sadly, off the menu in this puritanical house. Instead, we are having a Pavlova, which, I am given to understand, is a meringuey sort of thing with lemon curd and berries.
We happened to have some good olives and most of a fifth of Botanist on hand and LSS and ne’er-do-well brother procured a fresh bottle of Dolin. By some miracle there was room In the freezer to frost the glasses and, as they say, “Bam!”

I’m too lazy. Even at home.
Back in ‘00 I went 5 days without a shower or shaving whilst touring. Finally checked into a motel. Frightened the desk clerk. After I cleaned up and walked out, the young girl who was cleaning the parking lot said “You look like a completely different person.”

Little girl woke up vomiting, so I guess it it's a good thing that we'd decided to stay home for Thanksgiving; it at least gave us the opportunity to get together the provisions for a (lower effort) Thanksgiving-esque dinner.

Lol. A woodworking magazine pairs with various tool manufacturers for a daily sign-up/drawings between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They sent out the link for the first sign-up today, but the person workin' the website flubbed the date - it looks like I'll need to wait 18,180 years for my crack at the square -
