Replacement for FD-4503

I have a 2007 Trek Pilot 2,1 WSD road bike that I love and would like to keep riding. It has ST-4500 shifters and had a Shimano Tiagra FD-4503 Front Derailleur. It is no longer in production, and a Google search doesn't produce one with a 31.8 clamp. Anyone know if the FD-4703 would work or suggestions for a compatible replacement?

Instead of looking for a FD with a 31.8 clamp, get a separate 31.8 clamp and then a braze-on type FD.

I installed one of these Microshift derailleurs on my friends 4503 triple setup with the band-on mount. I would say at least equal or better performance, is made with a little more steel so probably more durable (his 4503 aluminum return spring tab broke off), comes in polished aluminum or black, not expensive and still in production and comes with a 31.8 adapter or you could get the separate band mount for a braze on version as KerryIrons mentioned. Assuming you have a triple crank, what size is your large chainring as MS has another derailleur for smaller max 44 tooth triples? Shop around for the best price. I have a triple crank 52/42/30, so I think this may not work. Looking to see if they have one that would.

I noticed on Ebay that there are a few Microshift 9sp triples that are for 52/42/30 but not listed on MS's website. Maybe no longer produced by them and from various reputable sellers so probably not fakes. This seller is good and I have purchased from them before and over 49K sales on Ebay so I would feel comfortable buying from them and a few others. microSHIFT R539 Front Derailleur 9-Speed Triple 52/42/30, 28.6/31.8 Band Clamp, 4710495434193 | eBay
Check out the other sellers on the bottom of the listing as there are several that have tens of thousands of sales with better than 99% positive feedback.

Thanks for all of the advice. I found a local bike shop that had the FD-4703 in stock and we tried it. It is for a 3x10, but it worked great. The hunt is over. Thanks for all of the advice.
