I had a daily low of 44 this year, but that’s rare for me. After four decades of endurance sports and heaven knows how much myocardial scarring, I’m happy it doesn’t get lower these days.

I ran competitively for many years and saw a few guys (no women) throw up and a few guys crap their shorts. On the bike, I know I’m balls to the wall when I feel like I might do all three things, but it’s never actually happened.

Let me know as plans become set. I live Cedar Bluff exit area. The ride I posted pictures on from the weekend is very accessible from the hotels there, if that's where you happen to stay. I don't know East Knoxville nearly as well for purposes of riding.

If, and it's rather big if, you do get in by then, a ride is a possibility. Sadly you can't go beyond 7.

That works, there’s a hampton inn right there, I can use my points. Now if I can just get started on time.

Seriously, we've got a lot of combined football watching here. Have you ever seen a QB step out of bounds like this on the last play of the game?

The Garmin, paired with your power meter and HRM, should be able to give you a better idea of VO2max than the watch, I would think. Low 50s is very good for a non-genetic freak.
My Fitbit is weird for resting heart rate, I don't get it. It'll usually indicate anywhere between 47-53 (it usually goes up and down with the amount of recent training stress)... but it's not unusual to see low 40s throughout the day, even if they peg my RHR at 52

When I was a ute I did a race and a girl behind me threw up at the finish line. That's the only thing I remember from it.
