Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It wouldn't surprise me if HVAC has gone up astronomically like everything else.

I just ordered more water filters for our fridge. 6 months ago they were $45. Now they are $65. Like, did the cost of sediment and charcoal really go up $20 in the last 6 months?

We've done that in the past, and this company has always been the most competitive, both at our home and commercial property. Been using them for a number of years.

Our new HV system was build with adding AC in mind but I don't know how much it would be to add the unit. Plus it would be on the front of the house, so we'd have to pay for at least a shrubbery to hide it.

And, some are no longer in production. The price quoted was not all that inconsistent with the lower grade unit we put upstairs two years ago. It's more, but we are getting more.

Our system is composed of the furnace, coil unit, condensing unit (outside), filter unit, and fan, plus whatever else. Our condensing units sit on the sides of the house. The smallest (the one we are doing now) is screened by vegetation. The other two and the pool equipment are behind a wood fence enclosure on the other side of the house.

Every house here is and has been built with AC as standard equipment for at least as long as I've been here (40 years). Living with no AC in this area is just not reasonable.

No, it’s something that all of my Garmin have done from time to time. My wife uses Garmins also and over the years, we’ve had 305s (several), 500s, 800s, 810s, 830s, 1000s, and 1030s. They’ve all done it occasionally. When I’ve called, they blame Apple which I guess is possible. Anyway, Garmin’s answer is always a hard reset and a fairly complicated set of instructions to unpair and repair. It involves a zillion steps because both Apple and Garmin do not want to simply unpair but want to leave pieces of themselves inside of the software of the iPhone and the unit that screws everything up. Right now, I just let it upload When my 1030 comes in range of my house WiFi.

Since it has internal cables, I am considering updating it to a Di2 drivetrain, but I need some input from the Di-2 aware.

Since it is set up for 10 speed, I would prefer to get 10 speed Di2 (ie Ultegra 6770) so I can keep the rear wheel and cassettes the same. I know I would need a battery, FD/RD/Shifters/Junction box(es) and wiring. How much sense does it make to get gently used 10 speed gear from ScamBay vs. bite the bullet and get current generation Ultegra 11 speed??

Remember I am on a budget, so cost savings are a big driver of the decision.

Thoughts?
Comments a few aspects of replies I've seen. You can use an MTB cassette and just update the cassette while keeping the rest of everything. External wiring on the Habanero need not be messy (I'm the owner of Habanero), you can readily heat shrink the wiring and run through the external cable guides just as if you were running cables themselves only there would only a single cable down to the bottom bracket. The external battery which houses the BN110 in a little cylinder which mounts underneath the downtube water bottle works perfectly. We have all the bits and pieces for it btw.
