15.48/660 gain on Thurs. It was spitting a bit (Doppler misled me) and raw.

19.9 (yes, that's what it read as I carried it inside) and 1,025 gain on Friday. Weak sun for the first five minutes of the ride and then raw for the rest. A pedestrian/bike bridge eastbound across I-5 at 195th and then an awful construction zone westbound across I-5 at 185th.

Oh, and if Greenlake is a reservoir, it is a reservoir for swimmer's itch! Never-mind dog, goose and duck droppings!

23 miles today. Sunny, upper 30s and the usual 10-15 mph winter wind. My hands were a bit cold, so tomorrow I’ll try out my new mittens.

took a couple of weeks off, still having knee issues, but went out today for 30. Knee felt good.

Road 25 miles today. Dropped of some cards at the post office and took a couple of pictures in front of the TC Walker mural. The got caught in the rain and cooled off. Found out if I take my glasses of in the rain the sweat does not sting my eyes. Still enjoyed the wet ride. The fenders sure do help.

Only had time for 15 miles yesterday. Windy and 34 F but my fingers were actually a bit hot in the mittens I got earlier this year. That’s a good sign for even colder temps, as long as I can keep my toes warm too.

A quite truncated 9.6 miles. The chain jumped the tracks. The chain jumped the tracks. The chain.... You get the idea. Apparently a bent derailleur hanger lead to a misalignment leading to "the chain jumped the tracks" REPEATEDLY

And don't count on the AAA to bail you out on a chilly day with sunset closing in. Two hour predicted wait. A friend was quicker.

But I guess there are less picturesque places to breakdown although I was quite frozen when the bailout arrived.

The Fremont Bridge which has a bicycle counter, the reason said bridge was open and the breakdown location. If I recall the counter was at 416 (non-commute Sunday). Oh, also note Repunzal letting down her hair from the "tower" window.

Bike counter

Fremont Bridge

Needed to open the bridge to allow passage

A pan of the breakdown location

Well I've just got settled down here in Arizona from frozen Alberta. Took two months from my last ride to my first down here - bikes that I want are hard to find and covid pricing is real.....so it's been two months! First ride today - 6 miles and I ran out of ass.....

If only my sister had remained in Tucson - it was a lovely place to visit and I purchased a used bike that I stored down there.

Enjoy the climate and terrain.

15 miles

This ride is one of my 15 mile daily weekday rides. Weekend rides are much longer.

There are cows, turtles, birds, alligators and more along my daily route.

A bit chilly at only 2 degrees C, but at least the wind was light and it was bright and sunny, so it wasn't too bad.

Because the rain I endured yesterday persisted and got worse, I took the afternoon to go visit the Centrum Ronde van Vlaandren with my son.

But, yesterday, I rode 164km…weather forecast was supposed to be light drizzle and mist. Well, it’s Belgium, and I should have known what would happen. It poured from the sky. And the route was excellent. Saw the four hydraulic actuated boat elevators that sit between between Haudeng-Gœgnies and Thieu on the “Canal du Centre” and the modern lift at Strépy-Thieu. Then stopped off for coffee and Christmas baked goods at a friend’s house in Mons, then rode back to Brussels via the Brussels-Charleroi Canal. Did I mention it rained, a lot?

284km of the Rapha 500 are complete. Now if the rain lightens up, instead of 500km, I might get 1000km before Saturday. We shall see, gotta get the base built, spring will be here soon!

29 miles on the road. It was about 48 F when I started and dropped down to 42 F. Cloudy day and a few drops fell from the sky.
