Alan Record on Baker's Bridge
We are having beautiful weather here in Southwest Colorado. I took the Alan Record out for its maiden voyage this morning on one of the local standard rides crossing over the Animas River on Baker's Bridge, which is a local landmark and the location where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid jumped off the cliff......

This 1937 era steel bridge is still carrying cars across the Caney River every day waiting for its eventual demolishing so it can be replaced by a modern, soulless, concrete bridge which is currently under construction.

In this picture, I'm not yet on, but about to go across the Evergreen Point floating bridge, one of two floating bridges that connects Seattle to its eastern suburbs. At nearly a mile and a half long, it's the longest floating bridge in the world.

way back in October, I stopped on the Fondulac bridge in East Peoria to grab this shot of my bike built by Gordon Borthwick...
It's an unusual bridge in that it's not going from a high spot to another high spot. It exists to cross I-74 while coming down from the bluffs above the Illinois River down to the level of the flood plain.
It's fairly steep too, as shown by the gloves being used as a wheel chock.
Steve in Peoria (but known to cross over to E. Peoria now and then)

I've ridden across it many times, but don't have any bike pictures. Stopping mid-span would be pretty scary because of the traffic.
One entry I found suggested inquiring of the Army Corp of Engineers stationed there.
I have no doubt that their take might be interesting.
With the lock and the rising seas, it may become an issue at some point.
"Sea"ttle could take on a very different meaning as time marches on.
