Got hit from behind by a car last night, damaging my rear wheel to the point it'll likely need to be replaced.
Does anyone have an 8-speed wheelset, using Campy Chorus/Record hubs with Exa-Drive cassette body? Hopefully 36h, but 32h would also work.
Failing that, a long shot, but how about just a rim? 32h Campagnolo Omega 19, silver anodized. Clincher.

I just dropped off the wheel this afternoon at my LBS, and they're gonna give it a go. No promises, so I'm still on the lookout for a replacement. Will need to match the cassette splines to my cog version, though, that's a gotta-have. The current cogset is aftermarket Ti, and I have a complete spare set of steel cogs, too. They won't do me any good if I can't find a wheel with a matching hub, so Exa-Drive compatible is a must.

It appears that's Exa-Drive - seems I can just make out one of the spline lands is narrower than the rest, which is my configuration. And that's a machined-sidewall MA3, isn't it? That might just be the perfect replacement, or spare in case they are able to fix the damaged one.

I recently got one of catnap's Raleigh Internationals and I am thinking of building it with a set of Shimano Deerhead derailleurs. I would like to set it up with a half step + granny and have a real nice of Deerhead derailleurs but the FD is an alpine shifter.
Anyone have a real nice Deerhead half step FD?
Barring that I might try to find a Huret jubilee with a long cage and try a 1x6 setup.

If so, I believe this is the only cage configuration the "deer head" version was offered with. That said, I've used it with half-step plus granny gearing (50-45-28) and it worked fine.

I have tried to use a Deore DX "alpine" triple FD on a half-step and it did not work with 50-45-28. But it also isn't shaped the same way as the Deer Head. I found a half-step-specific Deore and my problem was solved.
I currently use a SunTour Cyclone FD for two of my half-step rigs (both 50-45-28). Many of the older SunTour double FDs with parallel plates and a tighter curve work well with half-step +granny drive trains.

Update: Rim is toast. LBS is looking for a pair of rims for me, to build up the existing hubs with new rims/spokes. The front didn't go out of true, but it's also and older, vintage rim, so might as well get the pair done together. I told them as long as the rims have a machined sidewall, they can be silver, grey, or black. Hopefully I hear word soon; also looking at a black pair on Ebay in case they don't come through.
Best way to go, I think. Brand-new wheels, I can trust them from the outset, insurance pays for them - and I'll surely see improved braking with a machined sidewall, too.

As noted, Exa-Drive is what I have, and since there's not damage to the hub, I'm keeping it.
Update: Rim is toast. LBS is looking for a pair of rims for me, to build up the existing hubs with new rims/spokes. The front didn't go out of true, but it's also and older, vintage rim, so might as well get the pair done together. I told them as long as the rims have a machined sidewall, they can be silver, grey, or black. Hopefully I hear word soon; also looking at a black pair on Ebay in case they don't come through.

Anyone have a pair of Mafac levers laying around? No or crappy hoods are OK (though if you've got the adjuster-thingys that are with the hoods, that'd be nice).

I can get you part way there. I have a pair of levers minus hoods but no handlebar clamps for them. I know that there are other brands of clamps which will work with them but I'm not sure which. I only have one spare adjuster.

I think I actually still have Mafac clamps (closed tear-shaped loop type) and bolts (t-shaped ones) somewhere. I can find a moment to check on Sunday to be 100% sure, though didn't need them for anything, so should still have these bits in the parts box. Caveats: the bolts are made of steel that tends to oxidise easily (it might be a good idea to blue them) and I'm based in the UK, so shipping tot he US will take a few weeks or probably around a month.
The funny thing is, I need levers for a build of a bike I bought ($10!) specifically just to get the levers off of, and then decided the whole bike was worth saving..... but I've already used the original levers on another build.....Cascading cannabalization....

I know there was a thread a little while back about tubular rims…I have an original Gitane wheel set with Mavic Montlery 36h rims. I believe the bike was in a wreck at some point and the front rim is dented.
I’m looking for a similar rim in good shape to replace the bad one.
