Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just saw a news story on it. It was in Peru and the plane was taking off and clipped a fire truck. 2 firefighters were killed but everyone on the plane was ok.

30° and going on a memorial ride for the poor woman who got smooshed by a truck here back in September. There will be an hour of standing around for speeches, which I may not be able to do. I’m too old and scrawny for that sport.

Going to overdress the core and try produce bags on the feet as a vapor barrier so my socks don’t get damp. The hands are ****ed.

39°, but I don’t ride for a couple hours, so it will probably be bare legs!

Well the bike shop has been fun, but it's time to move on to other things.

Starting a new job with the water department in design & inspection here in a few weeks

High wind all night here. I really wanted to do one of the club rides today but don't want to fight the wind. Plus, the people I want to see might not show up anyway.
Might have to drive to the wind sheltered area and ride with the same old same old. Have 45 minutes to decide.

46° but I'm gonna try to go back to sleep for a bit. I'll probably go with my threadbare Castelli tights instead of my toasty new REI tights if it's still tights weather when I roll out.

Bike shops are somewhat of a dead-end as far as long-term careers go.

46 degrees atm, but it's Saturday so no ride.

I was planning to Zwift last night, but since I'm taking next week off, I wanted to get one project to a good stopping point without compromising the work, so I ended up not getting home till late, and The Older Boy, who had a day off, wanted to start dinner. The advantage of having a kid in the Meat and Seafood department is he keeps an eye on sales and buys shrimp when they're cheap. So last night it was plain steamed shrimp, which I think are underappreciated. Also low in calories!

Then you add butter....

Anyhow, I need to establish some rules and a schedule, so that my Zwifting time is sacrosanct.

My most frequent scores are 3s and 5s, oddly enough. Both more than 4s.

32 when I started. I was bundled up nice and warm. “rick” shows up in shorts. SMH.

Anyways, not going to brag but reached the 9000 for the year. 10000 was the goal, might up that to 11500.
