Yeah, the high polishing finish of 25th anniversary set is the pinnacle of alu bike parts, indeed.

I'm afraid the bike parts makers, Shimano and Campy, will never make parts like that.

It takes too much time and money.

Next year, 2023, is the 50th anniversary of Dura Ace,
how will Shimano celebrate Dura Ace?
Will they start the polishing buff machine again?

I asked that same question in a thread I posted on the C&V Forum. I'm pretty sure anything Shimano comes up with will pale in comparison to the 25th Anniversary Group. I am curious about what they'll come up with, though.

I agree with you.

But my main interest, or concern, is the price.
It'll be unreasonably high.

It's just an old cardboard box for ordinary people, but viewers of this thread must like it.

And bikes like this one.

Oh, no doubt. But Dura Ace has always been expensive, as you well know, owning that lovely cardboard box and presumably everything that was inside it.

The boxed 25th Anniversary set has been running on eBay between US $3,000 and US $4,000 recently. I suspect it's probably quite a bit higher in Japan as its collector value has increased.

I can't imagine the black cubist design of modern Dura Ace will take well to any 50th Anniversary treatment, but I am still curious to see if they even make an attempt celebrating this milestone.

Nobody has posted 25th set yet.
Hmmm, here comes the show time.

First, the outer cardboard box.

Top side, ID label and serial number label are pasted.
This one has serial number 5405.

It's side was put on ID label and serial number label, too.
But the number fades away.

Next, serial number matching check.

The left crank and the card board box.

With the case.

Pull the case out of the card board box.
Protection plastic sheet is still on it.

2 keys aren't missed.

The lid.

to be continued.
You ain't heard nothing yet!

Just as with the Campy anniversary sets, Iím not impressed with set in the box. Put it on a frame and post that.

BMC kid

ok, I took some quick shots.

It's hard to take mirror finish shining surface.
But I took "25".

Originally, it had 53x39.
Changed to DA7700 52x39

You are welcome, BMC kid.

When I took this pic, I forgot to take details and parts.

But I took King's favorite part, lol!
King's power is still sooooo strong he reminded me to take it.
Campy 1st gen Record 2-bolt post, milled and polished.

Aww. Too bad. No Dura Ace seatpost? And an unfortunate stem choice. Also not Dura Ace?

Thank you for your comment.

Seat Post
Yeah, I have 25th post.
But 2-bolt posts, top bolt Campy type or under bolt Thomson type, have been my first choice since 1980 or so.

They're easier to fine adjust.
They secure the seat rails tighter.
Bolts need lighter torque.

I've looking for Eddy Merckx-panto 2-bolt Record, but found none.

Stem
Yeah, it isn't cool even for me, lol.
When I bought this bike with 25th anniversary set as used, the steerer tube, threadless, was already cut too short.
For my position, no other choice but this 35 degree, 110mm stem.
But this non-pretty stem helps me to ride comfortably.

Life doesn't go as expected or imagined.

That crank is a thing of beauty. Looks better than the 7410, in my book.

I also love the polished quick releases on the brakes.

Yeah, the crank is a shining armor, and is very?, no, no, no, extremely beautiful.

Brake quick releases?
Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more

I was looking forward to another post from you.

Are there more technologically superior groupsets? Yep. Lighter? Yep. More gears? Yep.

No contest. I think the 25th Anniversary set is the absolute high mark of bicycle components from any manufacturer. Nothing before or since can really touch it in terms of beauty, shine, classiness. Stunning.

I know a booklet also came with the set. I wouldnít ask you to scan it, but can you summarize whatís in it?

I'm very happy you LOVE 25th anniversary set

25th anniversary set is, ah, how would you say in English, tour de force?
As great as Tour de France!

Booklet, yes, it's on the back of the lid.
I don't have a scanner, but I will do something.
Don't miss it, lol.
