Rubbee-X e-bike conversion kit on my Zizzo Liberte
Just wanted to share my successful e-bike conversion kit by Rubbee-X on the Zizzo Liberte.

It's a friction drive based kit, i.e. the motor roller is in contact with the rear tire providing pedal assist power.
I'm riding up to 20mph with the motor assisting without breaking a sweat.

Linberl, how do you think this compares to the OneMotor you've used? Any benefit (I guess the Rubbee price is lower) to operating the rear tire vs. front?

OneMotor is gone, a victim of Covid, so it's kinda moot but.....OM was more flexible. You could mount on front or rear wheels. OM was definitely more sophisticated in software, with bluetooth display and cadence sensors. I wrote Pikaboost to ask about what the battery replacement process is - can you replace the individual cells yourself -and haven't heard back yet. One thing I learned from OM is do not buy a system with a proprietary battery, because if the company disappears, you've got problems. The system on my tadpole trike uses a standard shark battery with anderson power pole connectors; easy replacement. All that said, for the low low crowdfunding price, if I was still able to ride a 2 wheeler, I'd jump in on this one. They've got a track record of actually delivering products (a huge deal). At the crowdfunding price, I'm sure you'd get your $$ worth and maybe more. Rubbee, otoh, has had some real delivery issues if you go back and read the comments on their previous crowdfunded options, and also some real tech problems. It's also too big imo. Can't drop it in a small bag to carry.

This is completely off topic but I saw an etrike at a charity ride last weekend, I wish I'd centered the photo better so you can see the mid-drive motor. Pretty cool!

No but the trade-off at that price is you'd buy tires a little more frequently. For people like me who've soured on the expensive/heavy/fast ebike experience and just want a little boost to a regular bike, this is an appealing option.

No possible to use a rack or a fender and just adding 100€ you can buy a really front drive wheel with motor plus battery

ease of changing the rear tire on the mid-drive is a big benefit. I've got one of those split-tubes in case and am hoping to never have to use it, lol.
