RSV heads-up

Consider this a PSA. My wife and I both have RSV. You know that illness that 2 yr olds across the nation are being hospitalized for. She has had it for 3 weeks and I am ending my 1st week. This is HORRIBLE. It can start with sniffling, coughing, headaches, loss of appetite, wheezing and the list goes on. If you suspect that you may have this do not screw around. Get medical help ASAP. It also caused the dormant Shingles virus to surface but I have had no discomfort just the rash. You have to take this seriously. it's no joke. BTW I am 76 and she is 69 and more adults are getting this.

Not meaning to be controversial or political, just curious. Did you and your wife have the covid booster? As someone who once had asthma and bronchitis, I'm very aware that respiratory problems are no joke!

I've had the shots and one booster. My wife has had the shots and two boosters. This is no joke. In 10 days I have lost 8 lbs.

From what I understand, there is currently no vaccine for RSV, and neither the flu shot nor the Covid shots/boosters will prevent it.
I've gone back to wearing a mask whenever I am out in public. I have a history of heart issues and can't afford to contract RSV. I've had my full rounds of Covid vaccines and boosters, my flu shot, and my shingles vaccination.

I asked my doctor last week, and his recommendation was to get the pneumonia vaccine right away. He says the shingles can wait another month (or more).

Need to call my pharmacy when they open...

There was an RSV vaccine I think in the 1960s that had to be withdrawn.
