Another damn Canadian

Greetings from sunny TO (better than Florida today). I hope you guys are keeping safe down there.
I've just acquired an old (83?) Peugeot and I'm looking for some expert advice

It was 17C yesterday (that's 63 F for my American friends and 290K for any physicists out there). I was riding in shorts and a tee-shirt. But it's chilly in the mornings and evenings. Beautiful biking weather. And beautiful colours (with a u)
