This is my jersey pack....what do you take in yours?

I've had two flats in last 10 days.....the last time a guy stopped offered up his patch kit because my spare tube would not hold air (turns out it my pump was not working!)....he claims he had gone 24K miles without a flat.
I think it is time I look into getting a better tire? I love my Cont Ultra Sport-II, but I think they are kind of soft compared to some other options mentioned (like Gatorskins?).

I feel you tho, back to back flats give me chills. That's the reason I always carry two spares. One in a saddle bag and one in a water bottle (ordered a keg which hasn't arrived yet).

I had been using a hard tool-pack with lots of stuff.
After years of not using most of the stuff I carried I scaled back on what/how I carried my stuff.
KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!) approach wins out:
small zip-lock plastic snack bag.
Tube
CO2
CO2 inflator
Enlarged photo-copy of front-side of drivers license.....notes on emergency contact and medical condition.
$25.
Rubber bands wrapped around bag to keep it from slipping out of pocket.

Which bag is that?
I have the 0.6L roll-top version that I use to carry a tube, levers, patch kit and CO2 cartridge/nozzle, and it doesn't seem to fit in that spot on my bike without rubbing against my chain ring.
Maybe I need to try to pack it up tighter?
I'm just using it as a seat bag for now, but it doesn't fit that well and tends to slide down and rub against my thighs, which is annoying.

I think the Mini has been discontinued by Castelli, but there are still a decent amount of them out there.
The Castelli must have some Tardis technology in it, because I have way more stuff in there than should actually fit.

As I've mentioned in another thread, I cannot conceive of a reason to put any tire-related goods in a jersey pocket, as tire-related goods are actually used (by me) once out of every 25-30 rides, at most. Inflators, CO2 cartridges, tubes, patches, etc, all go into the bag specific to each bike, because I don't have two bike that run the same tires. So the pouch carries stuff I would need for any of my bikes at any time. The contents have not changed since I switched from a round power bank to a flat one about a year ago.

I have Grandma's purse strapped under my saddle, that bad boy has everything but a tissue with some spit on it for clean up. I mostly ride alone where cell service is spotty so self rescue is the deal.

It really just depends on the area you ride in and your personal preferences. I don't really want to work on my bike in the sometimes very hot and sweltering heat here. Since any point on even 60 mile circuits aren't so far from my home, I'll be content to abandon the ride and call home for someone to rescue me.

Here's what I carry - all this goes in my middle pocket. A couple of bananas (and a Snickers bar for longer rides) go in the right pocket. Phone and some cash in a ziplock bag goes in the left pocket. Done. Only the TT bike has 2 spare tubes and a CO2 cartridge permanently attached on the saddle bottle mount (and for race day, i stick one more CO2 cartridge in my bento box).
And in case you are wondering about the extra long valve, i am not compensating - lets me use the same spare for everything ranging from my box section Al wheels to my 90mm deep sections.
That said, i wouldnt mind finding a small roll in which i can stuff all this, to make it easier to stuff into the jersey - a smaller version of the Lezyne Caddy. I recall someone used to make an outrageously expensive one. Are there any relatively inexpensive options out there?

Interesting that some of the responses above seem to have left out a multitool or it's equivalent. Not used on most rides, but vital when needed.

I'm curious to know the last time anyone needed a quicklink? I broke my mtb chain this spring but it was incredibly dirty and neglected.

I used one last year. It was my own stupid fault as I had reused a pin on a chain that I messed up the length on. Chain broke under load mid-ride. I used the quick link and limped back home.

I just couldnt be arsed carrying a lot of stuff.... I flat once or twice a year ( i just effed myself, didnt I?), and since my bar tape all black precisely for that reason (I love the look of white bar tape - i hate everything else about it), I dont bother. I admit it isnt logical.

Did the exact same thing on my mtb a few years back, now it's quick links only. Going tubeless was great, eliminated the need for a tube, levers, patches. I have a chain tool, spoke wrench, pump, lots of food.

Obviously YMMV, and likely not an issue for the skinny-legged, but can absolutely be a problem for the... ample-legged,
...velcro around the post probably the best way I know of to wear a hole in your bibs/shorts. Why do you think there are so many bags that don't touch the post at all?

I have two saddle bags on my bikes. One has a Topeak micro and the other a Specialized Stormproof. Both clip in and neither have Velcro straps. I never get any rub and I have ample legs..They clip in securely and solid and I never notice they are there until I need them. You must not have ever tried these.
