New River Valley Trail today. Looks pretty smooth for a gravel bike.

picked up a friend along the way. Plugged it up and was able to make it home, then realized it had punctured the side wall. May be time to swap out to new tires.

Ive got a couple different sets at the apartment I’ll bring home to try

I think I’m going to try the Cinturato’s I took off the commuter first, I didn’t like them for that application but maybe I’ll like them here.

It was a fun bike, but I ended up selling it shortly after that ride, ha! Picked up a Grizl, which I’m loving so far.

Lockhart, TX

Contrast to this image, the whole area has a fairly strong aroma of fresh crude oil. Still an enjoyable ride though.

I’ve noticed they’re unfortunately paving over a lot of the gravel around Lockhart, which is a bummer. As for the smell, I know exactly what you are talking about lol

I had taken 3 months off last summer due to an injury and when I did this route again in October, I was bummed to find this had happened to most of the route. Pouring tar over loose gravel is not pretty.
