A Little Good Weather

Finally got a day of decent 50 deg. weather. Took my Trek Marlin 5 out for a little path riding, it does very well. Nice ride, the big wheels roll over roots etc nicely, the lightweight makes for plenty of torque to power over hills. Low wind, no bugs or excessive heat make for nice woods riding. Sunday is looking good, I'll be out again

I’ve got a carbon hybrid frame hanging in my garage and I’m not ashamed to say I’m gonna totally ripoff that color scheme. I’m not sure exactly how I’ll lay it out, but those colors are definitely gonna be part of it.

Cool, another Marlin rider! I just inducted my boy into the club with the Radioactive Red version of the 2022 Marlin 5. My gray ghost has seen three winters and has lots of scratches from riding in the ice and snow.

I traded up to the "7", I kept getting chain drops unless you shifted very gingerly, no front derailleur on this guy, and the fork is a little better, same good backwoods capabilities.

60 today. 70 tomorrow, but high probability of rain all through the daylight hours. Then 90+, sunny, winds 10-20 mph for 2 days, followed by rainy 80s. Is that good weather?

Nice! That's definitely an upgrade. Sorry to hear about the chain drops but IIRC that Deore rear derailleur has a clutch and it sounds like you don't have it engaged.

My drops on the Marlin 5 were coming from the front derailleur, the 7 is working great no issues. Clutch must have come loose, I closed it back up.
