A few observers

- I like the Surly
- Terrain looks challenging, soft at times, hilly
- Clearly no one is missing with you guys, thanks to ‘Frank the Tank’ there

Night gravel riding in Washington, CT. We do this route as part of our weekly ride from mid-September until it gets icy in December.

The road was pretty rough. Lots of wash board and many large rocks. Got video of 4 Elk on this ride.

We've had some flooding on the Potomac River and some storm damage along the C&O Canal. I had to climb over a few trees earlier this week.

The work being done near the McMahons Mill was disrupted by the recent flooding. Two work barges tethered in the river broke loose and went over the dam, now recovered. I'm sure the towpath will be closed between MP 88 & 89 for quite a while longer. That's a section of a 28 mile ride for me, so I wish they would get this done.

Saturday's ride behind University of California, Santa Cruz and Wilder Ranch. Gorgeous day that felt like summer. Goats are on fire hazard reduction duty in preparation for up coming fire season. You know the old Johnny Carson joke, California has 4 seasons, Fire, flood, drought and Earthquake.

What do boats have to do with preparing for the fire season?

HAHA! I was genuinely looking at the picture you had where you can see the bay and was wondering if you meant there are no boats out there because there is preparation for fire duty. I was super curious as to how that works. Funny stuff.
I see the verbiage on that sign now and your comment makes WAY more sense.

My Pioneer Valley Custom bike has seen many a dirt road from the Berkshires of Massachusetts to the Highlands of Scotland. Steel is real and this tough build can take whatever comes its way.
