That range really has a rain shadow. When we finished in Sisters it was warm and dry. And whatever was blooming on that side of the mountains sent me into a sneezing fit for over 30 min. We had started in Sisters a week earlier and I was fine. Fine for the rest of the loop as well. But something must have started releasing its pollen during our week on the road. My nose was like a faucet.
Washington is the same way. First time I crossed the North Cascades Highway it was snowing on the west side. When I descended to Winthrop, a mere 32 miles away, it was dry, and there were tumbleweeds blowing around town.

My daughter's offer on this place was accepted and they are doing the inspection today: 2204 Stone River Dr, Austin, TX 78745 | MLS #4828580 | Zillow
If all goes well, they will close within a few weeks.
May be bringing my bike to check out Veloway for next visit to your hood.

No congrats to me, it's all them! She's been off my dime for a few years now. Excited for her and her fiancé though!

That was our last day in 2007. We camped in Rainbow the night before. That morning it was cold and drizzling, but it cleared up before we reached the top. Great views.

My sister lived in Portland in 1992 so that's where my ex and I started our loop. We went through Bend but I don't remember the roads we took out of Portland.
I've never been to Washington.

I got ****** news today. So when I first start at the new airline I was dreading being based in New York. Before I finished training the pilots had a base bid, and I changed my base to Charlotte. Back in December I made this decision and I was awarded Charlotte, with a start date of June. Little did I know this was a stupid stupid move. I’ve grown to like New York, I like the trips, strictly domestic and I am actually senior enough to get a really decent schedule.
Charlotte I’m at the bottom of the barrel. I got my schedule for next month and its absolutely terrible. All I wanted was the 11/12 off for my daughters birthday and I couldn’t get that. I went from having 21 days off this month, and previous months having between 16-19 days off to 12. Pay is even less.
I am hoping I am back in New York by Sept.

I was figuring "congrats for successfully setting them up for this major life accomplishment" was in order; you're clearly a (deservedly) proud papa.

We've been very blessed with two kids that never really caused us any problems and who have worked hard to liberate themselves from our control. We count ourselves lucky knowing how easy one bad/stupid decision can send things very sideways.

We started in Florence. We stayed in Sisters the second night, (I think). We did not camp but stayed in motels or people's homes. I have route notes around here somewhere.
My sister lived in Portland in 1992 so that's where my ex and I started our loop. We went through Bend but I don't remember the roads we took out of Portland.
I've never been to Washington.

So weird, I could swear I put this up this morning.
I had to skip out on my Tuesday night ride because I got out of work late yesterday. Then I had to turn around because I busted my saddle. One of the seat rails snapped.
so I rode 9 mile's standing up.
That was irritating because I just bought a new saddle for the 09 Tarmac. I decided to put one of my Romin evos on the bike. So I dragged out the box 'o' saddles.I came across the white Romin that was on the old Saxo bank bike I got hit on. (One of the wings was busted off of the seatback and a big chunk of foam was missing in the back.) Those rails were intact, and looked straight....Hmmmm.... if only there was a way to put those rails on the other saddle..
Ta dah!
I'll put this on the trainer and see how it does.

The story I read said that the black box data showed that the cockpit controls put the plane into the near vertical dive.

Using the weed eater for the second or third time since the complete overhaul. Wanted to clean the air filter, but someone stripped the threads upon re-installing the cover on a brand new carburator. Someone also wrapped the string that holds the gas cap around the fuel line inside the tank. This from a certified Stihl repair facility.
Ugh!
