Yeah, it's a shame the state is now being ruined by greed and developers. Overgrowth has ruined so many areas of the state and now the little valley I'm in is being ravaged by power and money. We have always had limited resources but the local government is ran by developers and realtors so despite years of strong water restrictions they are rezoning thousands of acres of rural land for development into million dollar estates and ski villages. Property taxes keep being raised to force more and more of the common folks out.

From my experience a covered bridge is a rare sight in Texas.


When I saw this on this morning's ride I had to stop for a picture even though it's just a pedestrian bridge over a creek.

Nice day in the mid 60's and sunny took the Clunker challenge bike for a short 10 miles or so on local trails and through town. With the heavy Clunker 29er about 10 miles is all I want to do.

My longest ride today at a little over 100 miles with 5500’ elevation. Apparently the last year for the Elephant Rock ride, was a fun day though, and overcast almost the whole time staying cooler. Not too much C&V around (including my debatable LeMond) but fun to check out some bikes and ride with others as I nearly always ride solo. Glad I took the LeMond for some of the hills, used the 30:30 more than I had planned. And happy to have 38mm tires for the dirt stretch.

Used the rando bag since why not, and slid my coffee mug with some cold brew coffee in there which was nice sipping for the first hour or so. Bag is stabilized by a nice gugie made decaleur. I have learned that the rando bag (for me) is like a giant snack box always in reach.

Our co-op's fundraising hill ride was today and it showed me exactly where my legs are. After getting drenched on my way there, it dried out for most of the ride. I had put on a 26t and accompanying FD in preparation, which meant the cable slipped and I got dropped after the first climb. Doh. Without a route sheet, I climbed a few other good hills and then was successful in detouring ahead of them, only to be dropped again as my legs said "enough" on some rollers. Still turned out to be a 32m, 2400ft ride instead of the 38m, 3800ft it was supposed to be.

I only made one restroom/photo stop in Pt Defiance, so here's my photo evidence.

Will the 5 mile loop be open to cyclists in the future?
Will they remove the speed bumps and speed signs for cyclists?
I sure hope that's in the future.

Nothing but cyclists (and I'm sure ebikes, somebodies going to make a killing renting them nearby) and pedestrians from here out. I can't say I noticed any speedbumps, once onto 5 mile.
Way too many dogs to ride much more than 20mph, I'm sure there will be an increase in foot traffic now.

12 miles around Folsom on the Paramount today.

The humidity blew out of here with a big storm a few days ago and we have had beautiful warm weather with clear blue skies. I had to work all weekend unfortunately but got out for 30 today. I rode north through our fortunately limited suburban sprawl and went out the gravel road the parallels US Hwy 29, the main north/south artery through our region. It's an amazing little stretch in that you ride past our little (but convenient and effective!) airport and you're on a lonely country road that peters out to dirt and gravel, all about 1/2 mile from a busy highway. The trees and hills are so thick, you can't even hear the traffic. Participants in the 2020 C-ville Bike a Palooza will remember this road as our back door entrance into the Charlottesville metro area.



Earlysville Road - this is basically at the foot of the Charlottesville airport runway, but no planes were nearing takeoff, so didn't stick around for a pic.

Where at, FW? I ride some nice classics in the DFW area year round. My fav's include the earlier Colnago's and my Tommasini racing bike

I have been riding my 80s Colnago's (Super, N.Mx) and Mnt bikes (GT, DB) all around the winery and horse ranch areas of N. SanDiego (Temecula). Its been beautiful the last week 65..85 and nice Pacific breezes. When it heats up, I just head to the beaches, like Ocean Side and ride the coast.

That bridge is located in the Prairie Creek Park on the west side of Richardson, TX, a suburb in the northern part of Dallas County.

I looked it up and they called it the
Prairie Creek Park Bridge.
