Common sense in the justice system. That's a miracle! Congrats to Volagi! Shame on Specialized.

I fully support pointless IP litigation, it helps keep me in business.

"It is unclear whether the fact that the jury found in favor of Specialized on the breach of contract claim could lead to Specialized suing for reimbursement of its legal fees, which, according to court documents, were already at a million and a half dollars at the beginning of the trial."
Could very well be not over yet...
Might also mean that there's no chance Volagi can expect to receive reimbursement for their legal costs?

Actually, the litigation may have served its purpose regardless, which was clearly aimed at quashing a start up competitor. The monies these guys had to come up with to litigate this nonsense may well have dug them a start-up fiscal hole they may never climb out of. So either way, in the end, Specialized may win.

My favorite passage:
In a direct rebuke to Sinyard’s claim on the stand of being the “Apple Computer of bicycles,” Smith completed his statements with the words, “Mike Sinyard, you are no Steve Jobs.”

That is the most priceless comment in the entire arrair. Steve Jobs was an innovator, Mike Sinyard sells copies made cheaper overseas.

Throw the stick!!!!
Since I don't own anything by Specialized except for a pump, I would have to say there are plenty of comparable companies.

I will never buy Specialized though. At one point I would've considered buying Specialized but after everything I've heard from Specialized dealer employees and all the stuff I've heard on the internet I have no interest in supporting their company.

All credit to Mr. Sinyard, he has been a very successful businessman in a tough industry. But he and his company come across as utter dbags from all the anecdotal evidence out there, and there is a lot of it.

there weren't a whole lot of readily available non-padded full finger gloves, and I just like the shape and hammock effect of their saddles.
the only other type of saddle I own are brooks.

I like Oakley or Mechanix for a full finger non padded glove.

The civil lawyers do so much unnecessary hand wringing. Specialized assumed they could bury them with legal fees.
