Why did you think we were the same?

I came on board around the time that on Friday night this forum was like some digital meat market.

But that might just have been a misapprehension. I have a problem with those.

Because there are hundreds of regular posters, and only aliases and avatar pictures to keep them apart. Those few that choose pictures of faces for their avatars stand out more individually in my mind, even if it's obviously not their actual face (MtDiablo).

Am I alone in this? Nobody else gets confused about who is who?

...that's harsh. The sentiments expressed by Mr Prine in his song, "In Spite of Ourselves" were exactly what you were discussing.

...I have distant and sporadic conversation with jsharrt. He is busy now, with some sort of startup business that will make him rich beyond measure. Too rich to associate with an unwashed plebian like me, I think. I do miss MangoPumpkin sometimes. Doubtless I miss her more than she misses me.

It can be a bit challenging the first month or two in a new forum. I don't display avatars either.

I've been using this avatar for so long I have come to see it as myself - not that I think I look like Claudia Schiffer, but when I see her winky face, I think "that's me". Interesting point though - I can see SBW's avatar in my head, I'm not sure how many others I could identify cold - in either direction.

I think I bumped that thread in a vain attempt to hide Threadkiller; you know, pile distracting threads on top of it to make it less visible to my enemies as they are blessed with short attention spans and like shiny objects.

Tom and KingTermite helped me on visual basic.net coding when I was in high school. Jsharr, DannoXYZ, Koffee Brown, Phantomcow, Pheard(?), definitely remember Stacey, goood times. Oh yeah MERTON was a character. I still remember what he kind of looks like. He posted one pic I think then disappeared from the planet.

If this will be settled by an arm wrestling contest, I'm not liking your odds. Good luck.
