Oregon C/V Bike Swap Meet

Plenty of Oregon people on this forum so if you’re close-ish there will be a C/V swap meet at the Antique Powerland Museum north of Salem on September 18th, 7:00-4:00. Mark you calendars!

(I have no affiliation, just a friendly PSA.)

I believe this is more of Cabe type thing, that being said, the last Albany show and swap at Deluxe Brewing was well represented.

It was in May and the weather was stellar so...

Prices were up there for most things.

If I only knew what a Cabe thing is...

But you had me with Deluxe Brewing.

The Cycle Oregon Week ends the day before. So for some of us, possible but will we be ready for more travel and more bikes? (Granted it might be nice to look at a bike we weren't in a 7 day marriage with.)

I had to look into it. Apparently it’s a balloon-tire, single speed, vintage American bike sort of thing. Less Pinarello, more Columbia and Hiawatha.

Cabe= Classic and Antique bicycle exchange (forum). Yep, ballon tire and antique bikes with an emphasis on American stuff.

Deluxe Brewing has a show that is interesting at best, one of my Merz's and a nice Colnago got less interest combined than rusty barn find bikes that had a half shined up fender and new seat on or the BMX bikes.

They are pretty good folks though but it seems like more of a friends and family wink, wink, nod, nod thing. I did get some big props on the 58 Paramount from the 3 speed crowd that must have made it their lunch stop that day.

No way we're going to win anything with our version of C+V and they did have some fantastic Cabe type baloon tire bikes and many of the BMX were serious collectable ones.

I did talk to them about adding a class and/or expanding their horizons on the judging, pretty sure it fell on deaf ears.

It is but they advertise it for all and I asked before the first time I went, they assured me it was for everyone.

We should show up with 100 bikes and see what they say and do.

Let's see, you, me, @Andy_K...I think we're still one collection short of 100...

I like it! I’ll bring my well patinated Legnano with Condorino bars. That could cause a lot of head scratching.

The most at the two shows I have gone to was maybe 50 at the first one where a guy brought most of his BMX collection, probably 25-30 and they were cool to be sure but.....

If we showed up en masse we would end up outside in the gravel so we need to bring gravel bikes.
