Wow. Presumably there's a safety barrier like the black and yellow safety one on the far side of the intersection (where people are respecting it a little more)

It kind of doesn't look like it... people aren't entering the tracks from just the side like I'd expect if they were going around an arm that blocks most of the way; they're crossing across the whole width of the roadway.
Still, you'd think the arm being down on the other side would give them a clue. (Not sure if trains also blast the horns before intersections like in the U.S.
Good thing this dude had pretty quick reflexes when he noticed. Shame about the bike, though.

Possibly, but I think he would've had to start gunning it much earlier-- at the speed he was actually going, I think he realized it probably wasn't going to happen. If he'd laid on the throttle hard maybe as he was crossing the first track, possibly, but I'm thinking that with the current speed, if he'd waited to try to gun it at the point he realized his error and braked, the train might've clipped the back of the bike.

Ha! That never happened to me. But I did have one instance where my pup was cruising along, then abruptly decided he had to poop. I had to ski over him with one ski on either side. Not enough time to snowplow to a quick enough stop so I unintentionally pulled him out of his "3-point stance". How rude!

Pro tip: When you leave your buddy in the ice-fishing tent to go get something with the snowmobile, be sure the tent has been untied from the snowmobile!

I didn't want to post this earlier, because I assumed the worst outcome, which seemed likeliest.

But...

The civilian driver survived the attempted murder by the Russian soldiers sent to "protect" them. The mods can move or delete this if it's too political or graphic, but I think we should all be aware of what is happening right now.

Most likely not, there was a shooting going on only yards away which he seemed to steering to and visbility in these things is compromised. It's also a Ukrainian vehicle but it could be taken by the Russians. I hope the guy is out of the car by now.

Seems like a case of Occam's Razor to me, but the Post reported it the way I interpreted it. Obviously I don't know for sure, but it seems strange to give the tank driver the benefit of the doubt. According to the Post article, he backed over him as well and then drove on.
