Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

thanks. yeah, I will be using these as my training/commuter wheels. I'm keeping my ENVE 3.4s as my racing wheels. The price is so great, that, I'll be buying a few more sets

I just got a trailer hitch and 1up single-bike carrier for my new WRX.... My cheapie old Allen trunk mount tends to leave rub marks so the new car gets my first proper hitch mount rack.

Vintage Campy Eurus wheelset!

Going on early Gunnar TireBiter (now called Roadie).

Really dig the old school Campagnolo winged logo on hubs, front and rear.

Have set of new Pirelli P Zero Road 26mm to fit on them.

Tektro 341 brake levers. Last time I ordered 340 and disliked how the hoods felt.

Arent the hoods the same shape on both? I thought the difference is that the lever arm curves inward more on the 341. Maybe thats how it used to be and the hood shape is now different?

I'm beginning to think you're correct. What I want is something like the one on the right,

which looks like it may be the Junior model; the place I ordered from, Condor, uses that pic for the 341. Some other sites do too.

The one on the left is what comes up for an image search for the 340 (and also 341, I now see). I find that model uncomfortable, too angular when you’ve got your weight on them. Guess they'll be going straight back – is there a thread for your most recent cycling related return?

I ordered a fi`zi:k cyrano stem to match my fi`zi:k saddle. I looked back at the order and realized I accidentally got the 20° instead of 7° 😲. I guess I’ll have some fun with it, but I ordered the 7° today once I realized what I had done

Picked up my 2022 gravel bike yesterday. I had been on 2 waiting lists at nearby LBSs since October 2021 (cheers to the pandemic!)... Last week, a bicycle shop 2 hours away received one in my size & color, so I bought right away and did the drive. Ready for spring now! The TCR will stay inside until roads are cleaned up by our city .

A set of 28mm Schwalbe Pro One TLE from MerlinCycle for my 22 season. They were finally back in stock last week - and already out of stock as of today - after being out of stock for several months...

Not my junk! Leftovers from the PO! All of that and more was in that workshop/storage area! Actually most was from the previous, previous owner who did all of his own repairs and painting upkeep! Not really trash, just paint cans, fan lights, lights in general! Anyhow. Plenty of room inside and outside to indulge my bicycle/woodworking fantasies! And no adult supervision!

I absolutely LOVE boa shoes. I picked up two pairs of (women's) Asics Gel Fujirados on sale a few years ago and they were my goto cycling shoe on flat pedals - they were PERFECT and I never had any issues with the mechanisms - they were also machine washable and no matter how I abused them on trails, streets, sand, mud and puddles, they always came out looking perfect.

However I did finally kill a pair - I rode in very snowy, sub zero conditions and I knew my feet were frozen, but when I went to pull out the dial to release the cables, it pulled right off the shoe - likely the glue froze, crystalized and cracked - but there's absolutely no way to glue it back together in a way that'll hold up. So now I'm down to one pair and constantly checking sites for another pair of size 13 womens for my size 10.5 manfeets.

I bought more shoes with similar nylon pull lace systems, but without the Boa crank to do the work and the quick release. And I've noticed that there's a general shortage of Boa shoes - so either the mechanism isn't selling, or there are supply chain issues.

Wiggle has their BrandX road frameset on sale for $150. Aluminum frame and carbon fork. Bought one for one of my kids to transfer components over from her current road bike that will be too small once weather warms up.

Apologies for the disgraceful garage ballast mess, but a few things in one shot, using a "use it or lose it" annual company health benefit - I added cork Ergon grips, a new Lezyne 1400 LED headlamp because the battery life on the Garmin UT800 is pathetic and biggest of all, a new Shimano Ultegra groupset, but paired with a 105 crank to fit the unusual Tern Eclipse (plus availability) and dual platform Shimano pedals.

usually a boa is replaceable, & if it's assumed not, a good shoe repair shop can make it like new again.
