Rear racks for sale

Tortec Rack is sold, one left.

The next rack is probably the nicest one I own, I just couldn’t find the right bike for it. I actually had it installed on my daughters tag along bike for a while…. Totally wasted!

I am unsure on the brand. Maybe it’s custom, maybe it’s velo-orange? It’s fillet brazed, hollow tubing. No signs of rust, so I made the assumption that it might be stainless.

The low rider racks can be removed. There are also mounting points for fenders and a rear light. Weight is 3lbs with the low rider racks attached. The low riders are removable.

SOLD

Here is a picture of it on my Melton:

most interested in that 2nd one! looks like it might be a switch-hitter -- seems like a natural fit as a front rack with those mounting points and lowrider extensions? do you know its weight?

Pretty sure that second one is a 700c version of the Nitto Campee rear rack. Works as is on a bike with full rack mounts or one could get struts for cantilever mounts. That's a solid deal there. I have the front Camppe but have yet to mount it to a bike...

I bought it as a Nitto campee, but I think it was miss-identified. It’s not the satin color of a nitto, more of a high polish look. No branding to be found. Either way, it’s a nice rack, it’s just been mostly homeless in my possession.

I can get it weighed accurately tomorrow and will post the weight here. It’s not feather lite for sure, but it’s a big rack and seems like solid construction.

Somebody had to say it. Reminds me of the scene from “Police Squad”, an American Classic.

I weighed it this morning. 3lbs with the lowrider racks attached.

Referencing any quote from Police Squad! (In Color!) obligates posting the clip

Jokes aside, wish I had a build going that would justify that Nitto piece as a front rack. Alas, I don't.

No it’s a rear rack. The poster above was just thinking it could be used as a front potentially.

Here is a picture of it on my Melton:

PM sent on the rear lowrider. This may finally solve my work bag commuting issue.

Tortec is gone, adjusting the ad to remove the first post and a bump.

so because of you and that Tortec rack, now I'll probably keep my Windor Tourist which I was planning on selling. Thanks. haha. I'm trying to thin my herd, but I'm failing.

Ugh, I came really close to sending a pm on the other rear rack last night, but just not sure if I need another rear rack. I'm really bothered by all those holes on the underside too. If everyone were not insisting on it being a rear rack, I would have assumed those holes were so that you could mount it to a fork, like some other rack models.

Yeah... maybe. I'm just looking at the photo of it on the Melton though and it looks like the platform at the top is too long and would hit the head tube if it was attached to the eyelets on the fork dropouts. I do see what you are saying about the dual positions on the mounting tab though. I just thought it may be to adjust clearance over rack or fenders.

Agreed - this is a rear rack. Rarely can a rear rack be used on a fork. I got away with it on my ‘84 Stumpy only because of a large amount of slack in the head tube and fork offset. And only one of my many rear racks fit properly.

The two middle holes are for bolting to a rear fender, the front hole is another mounting option (likely at the seat stay bridge) and the rear one is for a reflector/tail light.

I have the VO rando rear rack on mine and my wife’s Trek 710 bikes. It only mounts to the dropouts and the fender - nothing at the seat stays. In desktop mode, you can see links to their builds.
