Its been two years. my setup has changed, not for the better though. i bought a spitfire a year and a half ago and had to garage it so needed to rearrange the third car port from a work shop to a cramped workshop with a car shoved in. good thing it is svelte, i can park, work on crap, and still have room to ride.

My setup has evolved a bit recently also. I cleared a bit more space and added a smart treadmill to the mix. Not that either of these are going to get a lot of use at the moment, it being summer here...



That original-version Tacx NEO has a fair few hours on the clock now, still going strong!

am i the only one in the garage? tempocyclist looks to be in the basement. its only about 40F when i start riding but i still get drenched by the time my ride is done. dmanthree, is that enough fanage on that tacx?

I'm in the garage, which is on the ground floor of the house. It gets pretty darn cold at times. I usually start rugged up in a hoody and progressively strip off! 😅

i have. not sure i like it yet. i thought i read that it was supposed to be easier to find rides. i think it is actually harder. but i like that i can select a ride and stick it in a list for later retrieval, haven't used that feature yet though. i thouht there were supposed to be some controls during the ride but i couldn't find any when i looked around.

its a beta for a reason.

Nope, so I have that 18" Patton fan ready to assist. But the two small fans are nice to hit the face when cranking.

My garage is a little crowded and just too cold now. I'm lucky to have the basement space available. I usually don't turn the heat on since it rarely drops below 50F. I'll start with the two small fans, and kick on the 18" fan when necessary.

My set up is mediocre at best but it's in a safe, relatively warm spot next to my home office set up. Finish work and hop onto the bike for some Zwift pain. It doesn't impede anyone else's living space so no need to change it at this point.

I just put the finishing touches to my setup which included building a rocker plate.

Great idea for the TV stand, sound is very important when riding. Between the sound of the trainer and the fan, I need to have the computer sound system (speakers and sub-woofer) cranked to hear my pump up music.

I'm happy with this setup, it's alot more comfortable.

Now if I can get my wife to decide on her shoes I can ditch these pedals. Swapping out pedals is getting old.

Very nice. Could I ask which rocker plate you have? How does it feel with the weight of the Kickr Bike on it? My worry is that it would feel like riding a 50 kg bike i.e. like swinging a bag of cement around!

I made the rocker plate myself using a linear slide and 20mm rail. Two rubber balls are used to stabilize the side to side rocking which is adjusted based on how much you pump up the balls. The ride doesn't feel heavy at all, most importantly it relieves the butt pain I was experiencing.

That's a very neat solution. I'd be very tempted, but I find the natural flex of the Kickr Bike just about enough for me to avoid issues. It's one of the reasons I chose the Kickr Bike over the other smart bikes, which I found too rigid.

58" Samsung smart TV, Klipsch sound bar, both courtesy of Costco on Black Friday. Wahoo KickR Snap (wheel on), which is getting noisy, so I just crank up the tunes.

I need to do some wire management, but was eager to get going.

i'm getting a little envious of all these nice warm locals. it was only 40F in the garage yesterday. should be a bit warmer today since it was 28 this morning compare to 13 yesterday. its funny though, no matter how cold it is when i start i still need that fan.

Even if there was room in the garage, well, just too cold. 34F in there today so forget it. Basement for me.

Another garage spinner here. I'm lucky though cause I have a heat pump out there. I'll usually preheat to about 16 celsius and then kill the heat so it cools the garage as I get hotter. Still use the fan of course too.

I've been focusing on Zone 2 riding because steady long rides are weakest for me due to my tendency to sprint too much and I want to improve that for bike touring. Because I'm mostly in Zone 2 I don't throw off crazy amounts of heat.

It shares my weightlifting area so I just cart my C6 in and out as needed, works quite well and I just run Zwift on an iPad.

I just picked up an SB20 to upgrade my indoor training from the Peloton that I've had since 2018. Just getting used to it and finally have it dialed in with the same saddle and fit from my "real world" bikes.

I'm using the latest Apple TV hard wired. Starting a TrainingPeaks plan on Monday. In the closet is my network rack that I built when I wired our house for ethernet.

This all fits into my office where I work from home. The fan is adequate but I probably will get something with a bit more oomph.

As a newbie still can't post until I hit 10 - so imagine a general purpose basement, work out room with kid playroom, primary color, foam pad floor. Kickr Snap with Felt Z85 now in trainer. Laptop stand to keep track of work and Zwift route. Also have a TCL Roku TV I'd like to use for Zwift - guess I will need an Apple TV to stream unless they release a Roku app. An 80s vintage Yamaha receiver with digital streamer, CD player, etc to Snell floor-standing speakers provide theme music. Pictures will post later.
