That ornament means a lot to me and everyone else who raised their kids to work on bikes, appliances, cars, home remodeling and repairs, etc. with them, as I did. Both of my boys now have very successful careers and acknowledge the benefits of having spent time wrenching/spannering with me when they were younger. (We still get together on occasion to help each other with various projects.)

are they soft and chewy? I love gingerbread but no one seems to sell something like a gingerbread pound cake or loaf.

This years Christmas tree and bikes pic.

My wife overdid it again... The tree is 3,5 meters (11,45 ft)!

Now all she has to do is dress it... While I lay in the sofa sipping Cognac.

Hey, wait a minute. Why do I always get seeds in my grass? I'm gonna switch back to Acapulco Gold. (Think Cheech & Chong). 😎😁😉

Oh yes, they are very rich and chewy. I do all my own baking and come up with or modify different recipes all the time. Xmas cookies are my fave though and I make them along with pumpkin pies all year round haha. Merry Christmas, Smokey (I really didn't earn the nickname from burning things in the oven) One of my past jobs was Search and Rescue which involved getting campers out of the woods ahead of wildfires, hence the nickname.

Ha! Seeing your ginger cookies reminds me that the preheat signal went off half an hour ago and I still haven't put the squash in the oven. No wonder I'm not smelling delicious carmelizing butternut... Best wishes for a scrumptious holiday!

Wasn't much warmer yesterday AM about 100mi W of Houston - or this morning in S Alabama. No snow in either place, though. Should make it home tomorrow PM.

Best Holiday wishes to all here from a relative newcomer, along with a little light music that I find apropos for the season.

We had a couple of nights in the teens, power went out for a few hours the first one.

Sent me into hyperdrive prep, make sure the generator, propane heater, etc were ready.

Then a freezing rain/snow show, its melting into a waterwall now so there's water everywhere.

Its cool to look at though.

Merry Christmas to all.

I made an emergency cheesecake stop at Trader Joe's, but this is all they had for gingerbread. 😒

At least there's no coal in them, I don't think. 😁😉

“Emergency cheesecake stop”. 🤪. That funny and why I always carry a tactical spork, you just never know.

This is cool gimmick but very disappointing. As you can see the business end is really small for some reason making for painstakingly slow eating. There is also a hole in it allowing stuff to get into the cavity where the knife is stowed.

I have 2 other sisters (I'm the youngest of 6 kids in the family), who love me normally, so it's definitely HER fault, lol. 🙄
