New Winter Storm Warning
There's an unnamed winter storm forecast for this weekend. It is slated to extend from NW Idaho and stretch to Northern New England and every where in between.
Southern Massachusetts might get grazed by it.

got a road trip to NY Friday > Saturday so you'll have to enjoy it w/o me. I saw a little something on the forecast midweek, next week but it didn't look impressive

The National Weather Service has issued an alert in parts of 7 states from NE Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and much of Western Wisconsin.
Blizzard warning for SE North Dakota, NE South Dakota, and western Minnesota.
Its impact may also be felt in New York and Northern New England.

My daughter was born at the tail end of #1. It was a stressful storm for us. #14 last month was just what the name implies: wet, heavy snow over 2-3 days which got packed down before plows could get to it, etc. Minneapolis and St. Paul streets still haven't fully recovered from that one, nor have many of my bike routes.

looks like I'll be in the 2"-4" range, starting w/ wet snow tonight, then finishing w/ sleet tomorrow mid-day? I guess I can ride in it but I think I have a head cold, so maybe I won't

we started yesterday's ride 37 degrees with snow. we went 1.5 miles one way on the bike path it was down to 31 degrees and the snow was sticking. so we went the opposite way and it was melted. went 5 miles turned around and half way back it was sticking.

The Hollywood Hills storm could bring some much needed snow to the foothills of southern California, as far south as the hills of San Diego
The same storm will impact west and east of Chicago and will impact much of Massachusetts on Tuesday. They can't predict the amount in Massachusetts at this time. It's slated for 4-12 inches. And they expect to have a more accurate forecast later tonight or tomorrow.

No winter weather in the 10 day forecast after this Saturday. Let us pray this forecast holds up.
I know what you mean, I just snuck in a 10 mile tour this afternoon, it felt very good to stretch the legs. It's been a long 2 weeks since my last real fun ride. I think the cold weather causes my lower back to lock up, but it's finally limber enough to venture out doors.
