40 bikes that have passed through my hands
As the major purge continues, took time this morning to muse over all that have passed through.

I've got another gentleman coming by today so at least one more should go. Then I've got about another 1/2 listed locally but can really stop at any time now. The bike cave is once again at a manageable leve.
Everything is finally in here except for the Evan in the hall waiting to go for a ride, the Mars Trekking that lives in the garage and the Prologue TT hanging in the garage. Oh....and the Olmo SanRemo frame that still needs building. Yeah, maybe I do need to let a couple more go, LOL!

Please impart some words of wisdom about roadie cycling after enjoying the full feast.
I like to feast as well, but my banquet is not as full.
edit - aside from 2 'no drive side' pics = only the mountain bike got a non-drive side shot.

The mountain bike was just my winter junker for many years. My knucklehead son borrowed it about two years ago and then left it at the house he was renting when he moved out. Yeah, I constantly remind him he owes me a mountain bike....

And.... don't let a fellow bike nut into your bike cave. The guy that came by today bough the Basso and the Serotta Nova Special. And were working a trade for the Colnago and a Lemond for his De Rosa Primato that is in my size. So three more out with only one coming in.
He knows about the issue with this one.
Happy to pass this one on since I haven't become attached and he could see the marks in the paint.
Same here, showed him the issues with the paint and decal
This was hard but.... I need to simplify and downsize.

And while he was here talking bikes with me DHL called to arrange delivery of the Guv'nor I ordered months and months ago as a fun little, slow down and enjoy the experience, bike.
3 speeds of path racing goodness. Old school design yet modern and hopefully troublefree.

Eh they were all junk so I wouldn't shed a single tear if I was you... I'm just kidding! Man those bikes are amazing and you did such a beautiful job restoring them. The new owners must be extremely happy with them. Some people enjoy the hunt and others enjoy putting the work into making them new again. I think you must fall into both categories OP.

Well both me and the owner will say, "thank you"! It turned out beautifully yet letting it go without putting single mile on it triggered this sell off I think. Feels liberating to get down to a decent number of bikes and no longer be obsessing over, fix this, upgrade that, find this part, etc. Not to mention the wandering mind and all the, "What the hell did I do with that tool"?! That problem has taken away the fun of redoing all these old type bikes.

And I am not far behind you in paring down the collection of stuff. Doing the bike giveaway to student thing has helped (and hurt, because I always want to get it just right, and finding touch up paint/nail polish has been frustrating!)

I can't decide which one I like the best. It's a toss up between the AMF Hercules 3 speed or the souped up UO 8. The others are just bikes,

I smile at this thread.
I have near 50.
sold one road frame and one track bike.
A DeRosa and a Pogliaghi.
the others are in the bike room.
14 Masi
4 each Colnago and Lejeune
3 Gios
2 each Motobecane, Bertin, Raleigh, C.N.C.
and a cast of single entries.
things pile up.
