Using angle grinder to make clearance from Road->gravel bike

Using angle grinder to make clearance from Road->gravel bike
going from 25c racing tires to 32c gravel tires I needed to make room from where they were rubbing the frame and forks. Grinding it down made a hole in the aluminum frame for them to fit. Honestly it seems pretty sturdy still. Guess I'll update you if it ever breaks.

It took the whole Perimeter loop (https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/706...perimeter-loop) this morning. Easy/Intermediate mostly gravel with switchbacks, small jumps, couple hard dips and descents with rocky terrain fine.
This is my only (pedal) bike I am actually riding it.

The good part of this is that unicrown fork. For the many who hate those forks; don't worry, It won't be a unicrown long.
And my experience - I had a fork fail 5/8" from your grinding. It was life changing and not for the better. OP, you just remove significant material from the most critical area on the bike. If it fails and all you get is a broken collarbone, a wrecked helmet and a few less teeth, consider yourself very lucky. (The chainstays are no big deal. They'll break but you won't get hurt.)

Most of the bits on your bike are only there to make the UCI happy. Cannondale do a fork with only one leg you know? What's the other one even for? Why would anyone need seat stays AND chain stays. ON BOTH SIDES?

OP, you've just completed a successful ride on your newly modified bike. Congratulation! Now, consider quitting while you are ahead. (I was offered the same advice, I chose not to listen. You still have the option of making a smarter choice.)
