Giant Bikes made in Hungary

It appears that Giant now operates a Hungarian factory with output targets of 300,000 units per year.

It will be interesting to see if any of these Hungarian samples make it to North America.

I'm sure a Hungarian robot can weld a frame just as well as a Taiwanese robot can.

Giant has had production in Europe for decades and I think Hungary came online a few years ago. I remember reading about Hungary pre-pandemic?...maybe?

Anyways, I guess it will be interesting to see if those hit North America. I would be more interested to learn if specific bikes or categories are made there vs China and Taiwan or if all types are made at all locations.

Giant bikes, you say?

I notice they didn't put the lock on right, some giant thief is going to come and steal the bike leaving only the front wheel.

Hungary has a very modern firearms industry. If they can produce something that complicated, and do it well, they can weld bicycle frames. I would much rather give my money to them than the slave labor shops in China.

Back in 1990, before they sold out to Pacific Cycles, Schwinn was importing bikes from Hungary:

Definitely much nicer looking than all those modern condo towers and cookie cutter buildings here in Canadian cities.

Our e tandem was made in Hungrey and it was a great deal about 4200 on sale for 3700 with decent components overall. Now 3 years later the price as doubled.

I genuinely have no idea what this means. It's obviously supposed to be an insult, but I am unaware of how vaccinated people act compared to I vaccinated people, so the insult failed to hit.
Please don't try again.
