Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why? It means I could run a really nice, fast tire and not have to worry about it, nor carrying supplies. And can swap helmets and get real food and re-up sunblock.

Or is this just me being lucky with a wife who's fully on-board with this sort of insanity?

200 would be a distance that I'd be interested in. 380+ or 1,000? Eff that noise.

That is sad. That was an iconic paint job.

Yeah a double is right on being a good challenge. 383 and a kilomile are just craziness. That’s what those RAAM types are though.

Wife wanted to have some margaritas on the patio at a local restaurant, but we have kids that need to get to bed and it's a cool, Friday evening after a week-long warm spell, so most places are packed. She did not hesitate to give me the green light to pick up some tequila and Grand Marnier when I suggested that I make some at home, though.

I agree.

P.S. Nine days does not a season make.

P.S.S. Interesting that the 90 minutes of rain I sat through yesterday did not record at TYS, 15 miles away. Thanks for posting.

Simply Limeade works pretty well(instead of sour mix).

Being on board is super cool, and I understand the supplies deal. I'm just accustomed to being self-supported, and that doesn't bug me at all. Something like the HooDoo or Furnace Creek appealed to me, with drop bags and such.
