Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sure am glad that the pending stimulus check hasn't landed quite yet.

There's a Pink Frosting cantilever Trek Crockett like WalksOn2Wheels has sitting on the local CL that's in the very frustrating "smaller than ideal l but I could maybe make it work" size.

Really good deal though. Hopefully someone else capitalizes on it in a safe manner. Even though I'm not really sure if that's possible with an in-person meeting

Well yeah, the courses become unsafe after they're closed. Better get one last round in before it gets too dangerous!

Over on ST, one of the elder statesmen is insisting that he shouldn't have to stop group rides until a study proves it transmits that way, because he doesn't think it will happen outside at speed.

I’m just of the belief that (meaningful) interstellar transportation is impossible, and that explains it all. Will expand when I’m back at my laptop.

I’ve got a similar group where the people are convinced that riding somehow dilutes the virus as it blows by.

I suspect that the fork comes with a steerer long enough for the largest size’s head tube, and they’ll cut it down to the max size for the actual frame in question.

Likely that the fork manufacturer has a limit to what the maximum amount of steer tube they permit to stick up out of the head tube is, and that given that different size frames have different length head tubes, the fork has to be cut shorter for smaller frames, less for larger ones.

*edit* Beaten to it by a minute!

And in other news, I just spoke with my mother. She’s been feeling sick for the past five days, but didn’t tell me. Not sick enough to get a test, only a slight fever and low energy. Just enough to leave me worrying.
