GRX options for a 11-46T

Hi

I have a 40t grx chainring and a 11sp 11-46 cassette. My chain is 116 links lengh. The derailleur is a grx 812 1x11. It cannot swap to the 46 without blocking. What should I do? So many options and I cannot decide which would be the best. Any suggestion?

Thanks a lor!

Blocking? Not quite clear on what you are saying? Chain is not long enough? Tandem chains are longer, could use 2 quick links? My 2 x11 has great range, as does my 3x9's.

What is swapping to the 46t cog? Do you mean you have an 11-46 want want to use it, but cant swap that in because the chain is too short?

You mention having so many options...what are they? List em out and we might understand what the issue even is.

Yep from the RD-RX812 spec
  • Total capacity: 31T
  • Low sprocket: Maximum 42T/Minimum 40T
  • Top sprocket: Maximum 11T/Minimum 11T
  • Cassette Size: 11-40t to 11-42t
46t on cassette won't work

So: What is your goal?

I could change to 11-42
Try a goatlink from wolf component for my grx 812 derailleur
Have a longer chain.

I had the idea to have 46T for mullet climbing with my Disc trucker but when swapping to it the derailleur is really close to the cassette and the chain have a big tension. And it becomes nearly impossible to pedal or to swap down to the 37T
