Addiction 2021.4

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How was the supply stock? The one by me didn’t have much left since it was changing hands.

Yes. We rented bikes there last time we were in Austin. Not many other options. I’m not a Lance fan.

Just what I always wanted. I wonder if they're big enough to hold a can of beer?

Those stems are frighteningly light, too. But in a good way

I think it's 52cm-ish. Pretty little. Price and stuff we should talk on a PM f you want

I wonder if they might build a short section "bike path" that goes wide of the road and comes across perpendicular, on each side, though. Hmmm.....

Anyway, I'll be glad to get back outside when the weather abates a little.

Zwift is just trying to piss me off this morning.

I'm looking to complete some ride maps for bonus XP, so I decided to do Everything Bagel, the longest NYC map. About 20 min in, and with close to half of the climbing out of the way, something ***** the bed and I lose HR and Power shortly before the desktop app shuts down. No map completion for me.

I didn't feel like restarting EB, so I went to Makuri Islands. I completed one course there, while chatting with a buddy. Started on another course and, about 15 min from the end, Zwift interrupts and ends my ride with a "Hey - your subscription just ended."

Awesome timing.

There was one in Portland that I only used once. Coming in from the right it takes you under three trees, then a SUPER tight chicane across the tracks.

I decided I preferred taking my chances on the tracks over slowing down to make those turns.

Hey Velo Vol there is a “Brass Ensembles” concert at my daughter’s university tomorrow evening. Program below. I believe it is live streamed, but we will don our masks and hear it in person.
