Have a Focus Culebro (Alu/Sram) for over 10 years. Very light and rigid and survived a major "off", which destroyed the wheels and handlebars, but the frame was very robust. Still my "summer" bike. Here is a good resource to find a decent bike https://nicelocal.co.uk/london/shops/type/bicycles/

Large company, huge output of all kinds of bikes, not exactly a boutique marque.
Italian style & Japanese tubing often means "Belgium" in these parts. The pictures kinda reinforce that. Was there maybe a Belgian connection at Enik?

Maybe so. I was also wondering if they just farmed out the frames to Taiwan or Japan and specified the lug work.

Did Belgium have any large scale production facilities for lower mid frames?

They did. BITD you could source any 'blank frame' from Belgium, from entry level gaspipe to hand-made professional stuff.

As it was apparently all a bit hush hush, it is hard to find real evidence, but Martens alone- who supplied mostly high end frames AFIK, says to have built 25,000 frames for others. Vaneenooghe built mid to high level blank frames in what I suspect may be even larger quantities. And then there were DIJA, Flandria, Kessels and a whole lot of smaller builders.

Many stayed in Belgium and ended up with Belgian brand decals, and substantial quantities also went to Dutch shops, to be branded as a Snel, Vittorio, De Reus or Jan Janssen, just to name a few of the more familiar brands.

I know next to nothing about the German market, but from what I've seen I get the impression that shops tended to look mostly towards Italy as a source for frames (I know BMZ built frames for the German market), but it wouldn't surprise me to find Belgian frames there as well.

Not that I know of but I know next to nothing about Enik apart from the pun fährst du Enik wirst du eh nix. OEM frames in Germany came from all over the place, the Bügelmann Barillias came from Italy, later from somewhere behind the iron curtain. No idea what Enik did. Local bike shops with their own brands like Strobl bought from wherever, those in the south from Italy, those in the north west may well have gone to Belgium.

Funny enough, I wondered if the Enik was made in Eastern Europe circa 1989/1990. I was thinking Poland or Czechoslovakia or something. Belgium makes sense based on non-fixie 's expertise.
