Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We had a nice ride today. Did some small climbs then started north into a strong headwind. Stopped for coffee and decided to stop going due north and instead did a little bike path and a few more small climbs. Only about 40 miles but made for a nice Tuesday.

We had our Moderna boosters yesterday. Don't know if it's booster related or not but my wife and I both experienced nausea most of this afternoon and we eat totally different food. It's probably a coincidence and regardless, we feel fine this evening.

The heat and humidity have returned. So has my wife, bearing reading material and woodworking tools. Bike riding has been moved to the back burner until the weather is.more cooperative. One of the books she brought is the 1974 edition of The Complete Book of Bicycling, or some such, by Eugene Sloane. Sure to be a crowd pleaser.

That wouldn't surprise me. Nefariousness abounds. Everywhere.

Reminds me of this. Possibly the pinnacle of '70s pop rock. It's in a current TV ad for something or other.

it’s blowing 30 mph outside and not suppose to slow down. Was gunna wake up super early and ride before the drive but that wind doesn’t sound fun.
