Once a year they allow a lane for people to ride their bikes across it. The Mackinaw Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere and the 5th longest in the world at 5 miles. Gets a little sketchy driving across it pulling a snowmobile trailer in high winds, usually you have to wait for a escort to go across if its bad enough.

at first I thought it was the Tappan Zee bridge (just under 5 miles) in NY but then I saw your location. had a classmate in elementary school whose mother drove off the Tappan Zee. don't know if it was an accident

yes, I later was reminded about that. I've been over the new bridge. still gotta keep yer eye on the road despite being tempted to look at the water. nice photo!

This is His Spot
On the local riding trail, this gator is frequently sun-bathing in this spot and watching the cyclist go by or stop for pictures.

My bike with a typically elaborate Victorian water fountain in Finsbury Square in London. Ornamental confectioner Tom Smith, of Tom Smith & Co, and his brother Walter erected the fountain in 1898 in memory of their mother who passed away that year. Tom Smith is credited with the invention/introduction of the Christmas cracker, which we still have with our Christmas dinner here in the UK over 150 years on.
